Re: 2018-2019 Playoffs: Round 2

Regarding the offside... sure, he's offside according to the rules, but FFS he has nothing whatsoever to do with the play. Nothing. The league might want to consider the FIFA approach. You can be in an offside position, but as long as you don't directly affect the play, you are not declared offside...

Re: 2019 offseason

Juolevi would have been a bottom pairing defenceman in Calgary playing with a strong D core. Guys like Brodie, Girodano and Hamilton. A good set of mentors there. Tkachuk would have been playing on a line with Megna and Chaput had Benning drafted him vs Gaudreau and Monhan or Backlund and Frolik in...

Re: 2019 offseason

The argument about Benning should have taken Tkachuk has been done to death at this point IMHO. There's no guarantee Tkachuk develops along the same curve in Vancouver, and a good chance that with Desjardains behind the bench he spends his first year toiling in the AHL. Pesky scoring winger vs 2-wa...

Re: 2019 NHL ENTRY DRAFT - Vancouver

If the Canucks apparently want to make a splash on draft day the only way I see it happening is trading back a few spots and getting another 2nd round pick or doing what the Devils did with their first round pick in front of their fans - trading it for a young established player. We simply don’t ha...

Re: 2019 NHL ENTRY DRAFT - Vancouver

If the Canucks can find a buyer for Loui and Sutter, would Edmonton trade the 8th if the Canucks took both Lucic and Russel back in the deal? That's 10 mil off the books for them, Lucic would have to waive his NMC as part of the deal and moving forward so he doesn't take up a roster spot at the expa...

Re: Vancouver's Hockey "Media"

I remember arguing with him on Twitter all the time - he once blocked me for a few years because I kept calling him out. Somehow I was unblocked during this past season - still didn't like his views and he was one of the reasons I stopped listening to 1040 - he was on too much. Just like Neil McCrae...

Re: 2019 offseason

Signing a guy like Karlsson makes a ton of sense - he's elite This is what it boils down to. He's a top-5-10 player at his position in the NHL. He could be destined for the Hall of Fame. If you have the option to sign someone like that, on the right side of 30, you do it and figure out how to make ...

Re: 2019 offseason

Adding a 11-15 OA pick this draft would be better. There must be a trade with one of these teams to be had without losing from our young core. Imagine broberg AND soderstrom. That sorts the d out in one trade...obviously for the future rather than the immediate. Snagging karlsson would fuck our sal...

Re: 2018-2019 Playoffs - Round 1

Yeah Marc-Andre Fleury is back to his all-star ways, has a career total 439 wins, 56 shutouts, 3x Cup champion, Gold medalist for Team Canada and a sure fire bet hockey hall of famer . What a nice way to start your franchise. I don't know about that, one Cup as starter, gold medal from the press bo...

Re: Trade rumours & armchair pipe dreams 18-19 Sponsored by SKYO

Just throwing this out there - Marner is the real deal. No I'm not wowed by the 2 blocked shots, but in reality, the kid can play and is probably the best player on that team. He's worth 4 first round picks from 2020 - 2023. Nyet. Only player worth 4 1st rounders is the next Chris Pronger, which a ...
