Re: OOTS 2018-2019

Looking at the standings, this is not a good year to be in the tank.

LA, Philedelphia, and two NY teams are in the bottom-5. I would not like our odds in that lottery.

Re: Canuck News and Notes - 2018-2019

I think Jake, deep down, is an asshole.

I think the coaches have spent 4 years trying to get that out of him and make him a smarter player, and hopefully it makes him a smarter asshole.

Well, if Biech can't keep it straight, I don't see how the nlheck the rest of us are supposed to.

Can't trust trudeau I mean GM's all the time though.
I think there'll be a bidding war for Ferky, and no way should the Canucks wade into one of those.

I don't know anything about any of these clowns except the floppy-shoed Pratt, and only because he used to post here.
OK, I've been wondering this for years - is this true? The real, big-fat David Pratt was posting here under his own name?

Re: Canucks Young Guns

Then heres to seeing him next fall. Well I could foresee us protecting Hughes, Juolevi, and Tryamkin Ryan Biech is an astute hockey fella and reads all the CBA, NHL rules yada yada, he says Hughes will not have to be protected if he plays under 11 games THIS NHL season. So that's my story ...

Re: Vancouver's Hockey "Media"

I don't recall Botchford ever cooking up a rumour that was corroborated by anybody or turned out to be true. I've always figured he's as "insider" as Garrioch, and tries to make himself part of the story.

Re: Vancouver's Hockey "Media"

Halford and Brough are the best show going IMO, but I have to switch it off whenever they bring that wiener Botchford on. I have zero interest in that guy's opinion.

On the plus side, since Botchford left the Province, I can actually read that paper again!

Re: Trade rumours & armchair pipe dreams 18-19 Sponsored by SKYO

Yeah those trades are all over the place, it's impossible to determine what a trade+buyout of Marleau might cost the Leaves. Also, none of the guys you mention were on 35+ contracts, and all of them had most of their salary paid by insurance. My 35+ Malakhov comparison was from 12 years ago, so not...

Re: Trade rumours & armchair pipe dreams 18-19 Sponsored by SKYO

The only similar deal I can recall is when Joisy traded Malakhov + 1st to the Sharks for 2 nobodies (dumps). You got me, I had no memory of that player or that trade. I guess that was in the flurry of weird things Lou did to get under the Cap - hard to believe NJ was once one of the biggest-spendin...

Re: OOTS 2018-2019

And the Avs and Wild lose again today. man if the canucks can get 2pts tomorrow, they'd be nipping at that final wild card spot. Ducks also play tomorrow but vs the powerful jets, the Oilers are winning vs AZ 1-0 after one period.*update the OILERs lose* Ducks and Oilers now only have 1 game in han...

Re: Trade rumours & armchair pipe dreams 18-19 Sponsored by SKYO

So along with moving up in the draft, Coyotes came out $1.3M in real money ahead. Meanwhile it would cost a team $3.83333M in real money to trade for and buyout Marleau. (that's a $5.13333M swing) That's a lot of coin, not many could/would do that... for a late 1st round pick. It would have to be a...

Re: Trade rumours & armchair pipe dreams 18-19 Sponsored by SKYO

If we want a first round pick, what about something like this draft day deal... IF the Leaves can convince Marleau to do them a solid. Leaves will be utterly desperate for cap room next season. Marleau + first to Vancouver for a seventh, then Marleau is immediately bought out. Buyout cost will be $...
