Re: Canucks News and Notes 2017-2018

Bitchford moaning about how Benning has had only 28 draft picks since being the GM here for 4 drafts. 28 is the alloted amount he should have (7 picks per draft) "get more picks Benning you dufus!" How about just be happy that he hasn't drafted less than than his allotted amount, lol? "No he needs ...

Re: The Bubbles and Dud review every GM move thread

I think Treliving has done a decent job in Calgary. I haven’t commented much on Chia so not sure where that is coming from I'd rather discuss this post than Benning for a change. Treliving came into a better situation than JB, with future-stars Monahan and Gaudreau already drafted and a couple year...

Backes has played 38 games. He's playing at a 50+ point pace.
Ya, I wasn't really worried about all the points Backes might have scored in games he wasn't playing in.

Re: Trade rumours & armchair pipe dreams 17-18 Sponsored by SKYO

I wouldn't mind Seabrook plus their first overall if the team could somehow part ways with Eriksson, but I doubt very much Chicago would be willing to take him in a deal. Having two large boat anchor contracts to deal with while trying to sign all these young "generational" talents might prove diff...

Re: The Bubbles and Dud review every GM move thread

I seem to recall seeing Blob praising Sweeney for his (apparently) shorter turn-around on the Bruins' rebuild. Interesting that as bad as Backes has been for the Bruins, his contract isn't holding back the club even though he's not cracking 40 points. I reckon that'll be the same for the Canucks wit...

Re: Canucks News and Notes 2017-2018

Weird that Baertschi is a healthy scratch after a 2-point night and 4 points in last 4 games.

Re: Trade rumours & armchair pipe dreams 17-18 Sponsored by SKYO

Tanev nets the biggest haul if he's dealt, would take a big offer to get him out of Vancity, I think a trade of this magnitude is likelier at the draft it were to happen though. On HF a lot of Anaheim Ducks fans were interested in paying up prospects/picks for Tanev, after they lost Vatanen, they r...

For Seattle to take Loui, you have to consider what you'd have to trade them to take the contract.

Probably a 2nd or Goldobin-level prospect

Re: Trade rumours & armchair pipe dreams 17-18 Sponsored by SKYO

There’s nothing wrong with not initially hating the signing or even thinking it was okay. It’s the idiots that continue to defend it after having seen this slug perform for his first two seasons here. He is a fucking thief with very little pride. Literally nobody says that. The Dude's point has bee...

Re: What to do about the Sedins? (Poll)

From the games I've watched, the guys who seem like they could give less than a shit on any given night.....Edler, Hank, Dank, Hutton , Gagner , Eriksson , Virtanen, and Pouliot . Vanek isn't listed because I don't know where he fits. There is the odd night where he just seems to float, but every o...

Too bad the Hawks won't be buyers this year, that would have been a great team to target their 1st and see it turn into a lottery pick (especially since nothing the canucks have would have pushed them into the playoffs).

Re: Canucks News and Notes 2017-2018

Notwithstanding the vague vagaries of demographics, something I've been curious about since the Olympics and all the problems at the Richmond oval with ice quality is Vancouver's elevation above sea level and the impact on elite athletes. It's harder to train cardio at sea level, and apparently it's...

Re: What to do about the Sedins? (Poll)

Henrik says money won't be an issue on the decision to play another year ( link ). I really wouldn't have expected anything less. If the cap space isn't needed elsewhere, let the Sedins have it on a 1-year deal. If there's a cap crunch, I'm sure they'll sign for less. I expect it will be somewhere f...
