Re: The Official CC "All Thing Leaves" thread

Another great game from Nylander. Toronto will have 3 great lines in the playoffs. 6.9 is milions too much you say? HAHAHA. Kid would have gotten 80+ points this year. He actually should have signed a bridge deal and would have made more long-term. Ya totally. He's on, like, a Loui Eriksson-like pa...

If Benning could come up with a hockey trade that doesn’t involve draft picks I’d love to take a chance on him.
It's a tough call - I feel like whoever a Puljujarvi trade will wind up being like Naslund - Stojanov gamble.

Re: Trade rumours & armchair pipe dreams 18-19 Sponsored by SKYO

I wonder if it is worthwhile looking at Jesse Puljujarvi. Sounds like his Edmonton time has come to an end. Maybe will can take him, a short/mid term boat anchor, and a good draft pick in exchange for a couple of our "not in our future" such as: Goldie, Poodle, Gagging, Stutter, Gudder. Edmonton wi...

Re: Trade rumours & armchair pipe dreams 18-19 Sponsored by SKYO

I don't get how people have time to post everywhere. Doesn't anyone have a job, or kids, or a life? You'd think by now, a peeler would have shit kicked Baubles and Dude for staring their phones. One time at the Barnet 20 odd years ago a really drunk guy was throwing dimes on the stage at the peeler...

Balsillie tried to buy Phoenix after that declared bankruptcy in 2009.

I liked Dahlen's response to McEwen's call-up.

Re: The Official CC "All Thing Leaves" thread

Lol when did Jim Balsillie start taking deposits in Hamilton? 2009? Ten years of people saying the team was moving - any day now, I guess.

Re: The Official CC "All Thing Leaves" thread

Enjoy your 5 years of Matthews Tuna. When he’s 26 he will be playing for the Coyotes  it’s been his dream growing up in Arizona to be a Coyote Matthews will sign an 8 year extension. Toronto will have an entire year to offer him a massive deal he can't turn down. The Coyotee fantasy bombed on ...

Re: The "ALL HOCKEY / NO BS" hockey talk thread

True. But I think the only way we acquire Karlsson is to give him the most money. As a team that will need to re-up almost all our good/core players over the next 2-4 years, I'd rather not follow Toronto into cap hell ASAP. The leaves made the mistake of having everything happen in a 2 year span. O...

Re: The "ALL HOCKEY / NO BS" hockey talk thread

I'm not opposed to Karlsson as a player, but I prefer we save that cap space for our own guys. We should try to avoid more than one $10M+ deal, and that's going to be Petey pretty quick. Re-up Edler at similar money, maybe take a stab at a depth defensive LHD like Benn. Fair point about becoming to...

Re: The "ALL HOCKEY / NO BS" hockey talk thread

I kinda agree with dangler. I would throw the kitchen sink at Karlsson but maybe sign a cheap depth d man and a cheap winger with some bite of that doesn’t work out. Let’s the kids play and see if a trade can be worked out. I keep doubling back to Ferland but those concussions scare the hell out of...

Aucoin Talks about Bure, Mogilny, and Messier Goes to show how much professionalism and discipline or lack thereof there was back in the days Sorry but Messier didn't even perform on the ice for the Canucks. A bit surprised about Mogilny's attitude though Thanks for the link. I like Mogilny even mo...

Re: The "ALL HOCKEY / NO BS" hockey talk thread

I thought this article was funny : 2017's Best and Worst UFA signings

Kuznetsov one of the worst.

Gagner one of the best.

I think over half the 'Best' signings are already out of the league

I originally thought the author had a strong fancy-stats bias, but now I'm not so sure.

Re: How Auston Matthews' contract might effect Boeser and Petterson

It has nothing to do with the cap at all. They haven't had to trade any youth for cap reasons. They traded a franchise C in Barzal for a guy who was already a bust in the Islanders organization. Who asked then to trade Hall for a slow second pair D? That was way too high a price to pay. Chia made t...
