Re: LOL

Gallagher was on the Sekeres show after Botchford passed (TG is a regular on that show as well as interesting enough - Mike Gillis is regular visitor). TG said he talks to Gillis often every two weeks. TG also said that him and Jason Botchford were very close, Botchford considered him a mentor and ...

Re: 2018-2019 Playoffs. Round three

Have the voters already submitted their votes for the year end awards? Cause if not, I could see Binnington winning the Calder if the Blues make it to the finals. Without him I don’t think the Blues would be here now Calder is regular season only. If he wins it for playing 32 games it will be a tra...

Remember Donald Brashears end to end rushes? Once he got going there was no stopping the Donald.
Here's one for the CC vault - who was the poster that has that classic Larscheid quote in his signature line - "he went coast to coast like buttered toast!"?

Re: Around the league (signings, RFAs injuries)

Carol Schram did an interesting piece on comparisons for Hutton’s next contract. “Will Esa Lindell's $5.8 million cap hit impact RFA Ben Hutton's next deal?” I put this here because I enjoy exploding heads. Esa Lindell is a lot better player than Ben Hutton. Not even close really. I wouldn’t give H...

Re: 2019 NHL ENTRY DRAFT - Vancouver

I just hope someone reaches for Caufield and the Russian gets snapped up. Then you could see a guy like Dach or Boldy available at 10. I’d be curious what the cost would be to get the 3rd or 4th pick. I like both Byram and Turcotte. When you're picking 10, there's bound to be at least one reach. So...

Haven’t listened to that mouthbreather jd Burke yet, probably won’t that guy makes crotchford look like a good reporter. What??? Media were interviewing hfboard posters?!? What is this world comi...

Re: 2018-2019 Stanley Cup Finals

If they win I’d let Marchand make the 1st round pick in front of the Canucks fans while kissing his newest cup ring and chugging a bottle of whiskey. But you hate Benning. The truth comes out - blob is actually a Bruins fan. It all makes sense now - Benning was dead to him as soon as he left the Bl...

The private messages came from Tuna, Pauser's sock (sorry, top secret) and Reefer. Blob is their hero! (and their "god" has horns) You left out Ronning4pm, which is where blob got his recent nonsense of "gee, too bad I'm the only whose opinion is actually objective " while simultaneously wetting hi...

Re: 2019 NHL ENTRY DRAFT - Vancouver

There will never be any accord in how to go about that. Assets we agree can be parted with are not enough to get that much done. Well you never know Mick, there's weird deals like Ehrhoff for White that can be made. A trade like that today would be a TSN turning point for this team. Leivo for Carco...

Re: 2019 offseason

Canes now out - I wonder if Jimbo goes after a Ferland as Friedman said he would. He’s a good player but not the type of guy you want to overpay, so hopefully Jimbo doesn’t go crazy here. If it does happen that would be fine, but let’s keep it under $5 million and under 5 years. I wouldn't pay more...

Re: Trade rumours & armchair pipe dreams 18-19 Sponsored by SKYO

You wouldn’t make that trade? Wouldn’t trade him for Provorov or Werenski or Dobson? You value defencemen quite high Blob? Over wingers? Interesting. What’s Dobson proved at the NHL level? Careful Dude, Blob's narrative is starting to fall apart, you might push him to a total mental breakdown. He's...

Re: Canucks Contracts

So who's spot in the line up did Leivo take? The guy was almost free and filled in admirably. Long term he may become a decent third liner but to do so he needs to develop a meaner forecheck. I don't see him as a long term Canuck. He aint hurting us right now. I guess you could say he took Boucher'...

Re: The Official CC "All Thing Leaves" thread

Tuna realizes that this was The Year for the Leaves, and they blew it. Now watching Boston waltz down the easiest path to the Finals in NHL history is like rubbing salt in the wound. I don't know if he'll ever recover... maybe we'll see him around once the next Leaves rebuild is over - so about 10-1...

Re: How to fix the Canucks defense?

Patrick Johnston on why the canucks shouldn't sign Myers.

Can't disagree with too much, but his point is Myers is a 2nd-pairing Dman.

My question is, in an $80 million+ cap, what is a UFA 2nd pairing Dman worth?

If it's less than $6.5 mil, I think it's good value.

Re: Canucks Contracts

Satiar: NHL teams can't walk away from arbitration awards that are less than $4.39M, which could make the Canucks think twice about going down that road with Hutton. Chance he's not qualified if Van doesn't work out a trade or extension beforehand 4x4 ish? or trade him + a forward for a top 6 winge...
