Re: Trade rumours & armchair pipe dreams 19-20 Sponsored by SKYO

Anyone hearing this rumour of Dumba to Calgary? And Hanifin going out?

Bit of a re-shuffle of the deck chairs IMO.

The legend of Demigod Demko continues to grow. Apparently his special ability is to mindfuck his opponents.

Edit: Also, fuck vegans. They deserved everything they got.
And other team's opponents.

Spock, your thoughts?

Re: Trade rumours & armchair pipe dreams 19-20 Sponsored by SKYO

I think he’d be nuts to leave 3.15 million on the table. I don’t see him getting much more than a tryout with another team. I don’t think he’d make anywhere close to that in Europe. He’s better off coming to camp and trying to make the Canucks and no matter if he makes the team, or goes to the AHL ...

Re: 2019-20 NHL Playoffs

It’s amazing that Makar, Heiskenen and Pettersson went back to back 3 in a row. Poor Philly and Jersey and yet thank you Philly and Jersey Yeesh you're right. Serious question, is there a worse GM at 1st round picks than Ray Shero ? Maybe Gillis would have given Shero a run for his money (or Nonis ...

Motte is a guy, I hope they find a way to resign. What a worker in the playoffs. Jim Benning made reference to maybe having to move on from some youngish players because of the lower cap. Think Stecher is one for sure. Possibly Guadette. Sure sounds like at least two players already in the system w...

Re: Goalies moving forward.

I believe they will be adding a sweetener to move one of this two out. I don’t see it any other way. Or maybe a little sweetener to get rid of Baertschi. Maybe clearing out Baertschi’s last year is enough to sign everyone and not lose a major asset to sweeten the pot? I guess we'll see if Sven is g...

Re: The Great Jim Benning Debate! (And personal insult thread)

There’s a comment from Doc in the draft thread right before the draft saying he’d “go to the dark side” if they drafted Petey. He was on literally nobody’s radar here. That's not what I said, I made a joke about all the Vilardi-lovers, here it is: http://www.canuckscorner.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p...

I'm still counting zero Stanley Cups for all rebuilds. What metric are you using? How far into the playoffs they've gone after rebuilding. Even though *technically* the Canucks won two playoff rounds, which actually exceeds Colorado's post season performances since beginning their rebuild in 2008.

Re: The Great Jim Benning Debate! (And personal insult thread)

I suspect Benning was told that the Canucks really shouldn't suck for the 50th anniversary season, and he had to do what he could about it. It was a fun playoff run, and I'm sure we all enjoyed it. Reflect on this and see if it gives you comfort if the Canucks fall short in 2024. Could be - I suspe...

Re: The Great Jim Benning Debate! (And personal insult thread)

Miller is only 26. You’re getting a lot more hockey out of this guy not to mention when he becomes a UFA at 29 he will guarantee get you a top asset in return. We may not be able to afford Miller’s UFA retirement contract but we have Podkolzin coming who by all accounts is another version of JT Mil...
