Re: The Official CC "All Thing Leaves" thread

LOL @ talking about the "Garbage D" and "Garbage Goaltending" they were 1st in the entire NHL in save % and the team as a whole had the 3rd lowest GA in the East, and 1st after Jan 1st. They were? I thought they were in the basement? Oh right I forgot, you choose to not count the playoffs. Regular ...

Re: The Official CC "All Thing Leaves" thread

For all the leafs forward offense, their defense still hasn't been touched, it's the same one that got smoked in the playoffs. REILLY - HAINSEY GARDINER - ZAITSEV DERMOTT - CARRICK MARINCIN - HOLL They better start giving up more goals, because they gave up less than Washington and Tampa last seaso...

Re: Canucks camp & preseason 2018/2019

You need six pk forwards Sutter Beaglet Schaller Roussel Then two of Baertschi, Horvat, Eriksson or Virtanen have to round out that group of six. Gagner can’t kill penalties neither will Brock or Petterson. Goldobin isn’t going to do it. Granlund and Gaunce are in tough to make the team and they ar...

The shitty offers would be the same, Blob. GM’s rarely part with Grade A prospects for pending UFA’s these days cause in a cap system in today’s young NHL Grade A prospects hold more value.
True, except for McPhee giving up basically a 1st, 2x2nds, a 3rd, and Suzuki for Pacioretty.

Re: Canucks camp & preseason 2018/2019

I found this PITB article interesting. I don't know why it hadn't occurred to me all summer, but acquiring PKers was a good move. Even though Eriksson excels on the PK, I truly believe he will have much more value (to the Canucks and as a possible trade asset) if his PK time is reduced and he gets o...

Re: Luongo will Waive NTC If Asked To

Canucks draft picks between 07-16 have played 2056 NHL games. Wings picks between 07-16 have suited up for 4151 NHL games. Yeah they are exactly the same  That's surprising. But look at the 9 players drafted by the Wings in 2011 - all totally useless, all out of the league 7 years later, but t...

Re: Around the league (signings, RFAs injuries)

Apparently, Henrik Zetterberg has been forced to retire from hockey with a degenerative back condition. Detroit will put him on LTIR. Sedins, Hossa, Sharp and now Zetterberg. Anyone I'm missing? Who's next on the list? (Please, not Bobby Lu) No, we need Bobby Lu on LTIR - its the retirement that wi...

Re: Luongo will Waive NTC If Asked To

Svenchnikov makes it 11. He will play in the league. For Vancouver Horvat- top 6 Boeser - top 6 Virtanen-bottom 6 McCann- bottom 6 Connauton-bottom pairing Hutton-depth guy Forsling- lump him in with Svechnikov Definitely below Detroit for output. You want to use Schroeder and Gaunce. Detroit has a...

Re: Luongo will Waive NTC If Asked To

Since Doc and I already proved Detroit’s drafting was stellar till 06, we’ll focus on the ten years from 07-16. Top 6 forwards/top 4 d Tatar Nyquist Larkin Mantha Depth guys - bottom six forwards/bottom pairing D Anasasthiou- could easily develop into a top 6 guy at 24 Bertuzzi - see above Jarnkrok...

Re: Around the league (signings, RFAs injuries)

No word on an extension, which doesn't surprise me. As Skyo points out, the Sharks have to renew 20 contracts for next year, so they could very well have just loaded up for Jumbola last run.

Re: Luongo will Waive NTC If Asked To

Blob, here's my take on Holland: Detroit won 3 cups with Scotty Bowman's team. Pre salary cap, they were a UFA powerhouse. Post-salary cap is when Holland put his stamp on the team. He fluked out with Zetterberg and Datsyuk. But he was also significantly aided by the decades-ago draft picks of Capta...

Re: Around the league (signings, RFAs injuries)

According to Garrioch:
Sources say the
#Sens
have dealt Erik Karlsson to the Sharks in exchange for Chris Tierney, Dylan DeMelo, Josh Norris, Rudolfs Balcers, 2020 1st, 2019 2nd and two conditional picks.
If that's the case, then damn, the canucks had comparable trade chips.

San Jose it is!
Guessing for Karlsson. 8-)

Edit*
Dreger just said SJ players being informed of trade to Ottawa! Oh shit.
Dammit we needed him to stay in the east! Preferably Tampa to keep the Laffs out of the second round!

Re: Luongo will Waive NTC If Asked To

Lol okay blob, pulling out a 5-year old post, which looks at draft picks from 32-12 years ago. Especially hilarious that Emmerton is brought up as "fair to assume will reach the 200 game threshold", since I'm pretty sure he hasn't played in the NHL since that post! But thanks for resuscitating...
