Re: Closing out the season (2018/19)
If they have a chance to be there they should try to be there. But that doesn’t mean they should be buyers at the deadline or shy away from moving someone if a buyer is willing to pay a premium (Tanev go TO?). Organizationally, they’re probably better off missing this year and having a shot at a lo...

Re: Around the league (signings, RFAs injuries)
I don't think anyone is suggesting that Vancouver should sign Duchene.Madcombinepilot wrote: ↑Wed Feb 20, 2019 11:28 amWe don't need a center.
Pettersson
Horvat
Gaudette
Beagle.
We need wingers. Everyone should be saying 'Hard No' on centers that are available.

Re: Around the league (signings, RFAs injuries)
Just read that Duchene's camp turned down an offer of $8M x 8 years.
The guy has clocked 70 points just once in his career, and at 28 years of age is finally producing above a 1ppg pace for the first time. Does he think he's worth $10M?

Re: The Great Jim Benning Debate! (And personal insult thread)
Agreed. Even if the team went out next game and played .800 hockey to end the year it's still a season where too many teams have under performed. And let's be honest, the Canucks need to play at that level to hit 93 points, which would be tied for the third lowest points total to land a wild card sp...

Re: Canucks Young Guns
He might have done it as well as it could be done, but it was a foolish plan that cost them resources and time on the real rebuild. So in your opinion your Vancouver Canucks led by a new young core could have been fighting a playoff spot at the deadline ... years earlier? :eh: I guess Ronning's Gho...

Re: Canucks Young Guns
the rebuild that they were attempting, one that tries to remain competitive and has roster players who are vets that can help show kids what it takes to play in the NHL and are still of an age that they might be useful pieces when the team is winning again. And this, this "re-tool on the fly" conce...

Re: Canucks Young Guns
Meds, Gudbranson, Sutter and Eriksson are a bottom pairing D and two third liners. They are being paid gobs of money and big assets were shipped out for Sutter and Guddy. These three should cost about 8 million total st best. These acquisitions and others( Schaller) speak to the state of the pro sc...

Re: Canucks Young Guns
Gudbranson trade, Sutter trade, Eriksson are not rebuild moves. I had a pm with another poster at the time. We were both laughing at the guzzlers attempts to pawn those moves off as part of a rebuild. For awhile we dismissed it as trolling. Now it’s pretty clear these posters arent quite that craft...

Re: Canucks Young Guns
Eriksson shouldn’t have been signed- 6 million Keep McCann, draft Debrincat and sign Polack, savings of 2 million. Do not make Bonino trade and flog him for picks/prospects. Had two years to do it. Probably saving 8-10 million on the cap and the team would be better. You’re welcome :mex: Can't real...

Irfaan Gaffar @sportsnetirf Spooner skating with Pettersson and Boeser. #Canucks 11:05 AM - 18 Feb 2019 http://bloggers-lounge.co.uk/2015/wp-content/uploads/2014/10/whaaaat-cat.gif Why not? Spooner couldn't do less for the club in Vancouver than Gagner was doing for the club playing for the Marlies...

Is there seriously a group of gillis people still active? Its been 5 fuckin years Yet here a few posters blame every wrong on him. That’s just it. At what point is this Elmer’s team? Next year it can’t not be Elmer’s team. I think Edler is the last contract standing that has Gillis’ signature on it.

Does Brockey_Hockey have any skill other than his shot? We got him 23rd overall. The fact that we picked up a guy that low in the first round who has the potential to notch 40 goals a year for us, yeah, I'd say that even IF that's all he's got we should be thrilled. This is the same poster who thin...
