Re: Closing out the season (2018/19)

Because Mr. Glass can fetch us the most. This really highlights his value for a team looking to add a RD for the playoff run. Consider how some of the teams that were looking to move assets are now in the hunt, Tanev might be the best available option. Would be very bold to deal Tanev before you se...

Re: Closing out the season (2018/19)

I suspect that if we sign a RH dman who is legit top pairing, then Tanev will be on the move, and his replacement will hopefully be less of a band-aid. Really? Why the fuck would you move Tanev instead of Gudbranson? Thats like giving Edler a 5 year contract when he's only asking for 4!! Did you ba...

Re: Closing out the season (2018/19)

Stones price is being reported 10.5 M$ per He apparently turned down 52.5 million over five years from the Senators. No idea if they made him a seven or eight year offer. He may just want to get away from Melnyk and the gong show there. Maybe you can entice him for 63 million over seven seasons. No...

Re: Closing out the season (2018/19)

One Ankle Karlsson they call him now. I’m seeing a declining asset in Karlsson In Stone I’m seeing a future relic Seabrook on a huge contract as the game changes on them. Stone is a bit of a throwback which would scare me if I was signing him to term Stone is like a good version of Blobbee’s Boi An...

Re: Closing out the season (2018/19)

You don't make the trade unless he's NOT a rental. You have an agreement worked out ahead of time.....hence conditional picks. If we are allowed to negotiate an extension before pulling the trigger on a deal, the prices goes up exponentially. If we're adding conditional picks, again, it takes away ...

Re: Canuck News and Notes - 2018-2019

Agree. Two years on Edler at a rich contract, or more than two at chump change with not trade protection. If that is not acceptable he should move on at the trade deadline. If he hasn't signed or waived his NTC by the trade deadline, I'd take the offer offer of the table and not sign him in the sum...

Re: Closing out the season (2018/19)

I guess I don't see why he would re-up here after being traded mid-season. Maybe the 8th year means that much? All indications are he's interested in returning to Winnipeg. I've heard the same about Winnipeg, but they would be blowing their own brains out to get him because they would have to give ...

Re: Closing out the season (2018/19)

If they have a chance to be there they should try to be there. But that doesn’t mean they should be buyers at the deadline or shy away from moving someone if a buyer is willing to pay a premium (Tanev go TO?). Organizationally, they’re probably better off missing this year and having a shot at a lo...

We don't need a center.

Pettersson
Horvat
Gaudette
Beagle.

We need wingers. Everyone should be saying 'Hard No' on centers that are available.
I don't think anyone is suggesting that Vancouver should sign Duchene.

Re: Around the league (signings, RFAs injuries)

Just read that Duchene's camp turned down an offer of $8M x 8 years.

The guy has clocked 70 points just once in his career, and at 28 years of age is finally producing above a 1ppg pace for the first time. Does he think he's worth $10M?

Re: The Great Jim Benning Debate! (And personal insult thread)

Agreed. Even if the team went out next game and played .800 hockey to end the year it's still a season where too many teams have under performed. And let's be honest, the Canucks need to play at that level to hit 93 points, which would be tied for the third lowest points total to land a wild card sp...

Re: Canucks Young Guns

He might have done it as well as it could be done, but it was a foolish plan that cost them resources and time on the real rebuild. So in your opinion your Vancouver Canucks led by a new young core could have been fighting a playoff spot at the deadline ... years earlier? :eh: I guess Ronning's Gho...
