Re: Around the league (signings, RFAs injuries)

The Oilers new GM only has one option, don’t do anything, be patient and ride it out. There’s no quick fix there. Draft, draft draftMaybe fire the pro and amateur scouting staff McJesus has about 12 years of dominance hockey left in him. What’s the rush? At this rate I will wager that at least the ...

Re: 2016 NHL ENTRY DRAFT

If only it was that simple, you just know the NHL would screw us in that lottery. We got lucky with Pettersson, the NHL will never forgive us for making them look stupid in that draft. I bet the NHL is thrilled that Petterson went to Vancouver. He's single-handedly making the Canucks watchable agai...

Re: 2016 NHL ENTRY DRAFT

I think people should just admit that Tkachuk is exactly the type of top six we need in the line up. I think its fair to say a do over would be nice. However, having said that, we still need to see if Juolevi develops into a top four dman for us, or becomes a blue chip trade prospect now that we ha...

Re: Around the league (signings, RFAs injuries)

We all know EDM is in crazy trouble, but how on earth are they going to ice a team next year? Looking at Cap Friendly, they have 6.5 mil in cap space with only 15 players signed. Cap is going up by 3 so now they 9.5 in cap space Klefbomb and Sekera will be off IR and they eat up 9.6 of that 9.5 spa...

Re: Trade rumours & armchair pipe dreams 18-19 Sponsored by SKYO

It might also be worth exploring the market for Markstrom come June. I’ll qualify that... IF Demko gets 8-9 more games this year, AND he looks like the hype could very well be legit regarding his ceiling, then I would trade Markstrom and look at one of Howard or Ward on a 2 year deal to mentor Demko...

Re: Canuck News and Notes - 2018-2019

This will be the most interesting post-All Star Break stretch for this team in years. Hope Benning tinkers rather than goes for any radical pitch. If he goes for a big trade, my fear is he'll either buy big and take the team's rebuild out of the oven before it's fully-baked, or he'll sell big and w...

Re: Trade rumours & armchair pipe dreams 18-19 Sponsored by SKYO

No need to trade for D for this season. Go with Hughes and depth at Utica and see how it goes. With Markstrom achieving his ceiling as average NHL starting goalie, the Canucks have one area of personnel weakness -- defense. Hughes in and Edler out and no other changes is very unlikely to improve th...

Re: Around the league (signings, RFAs injuries)

Guess they couldn't give Spooner away. Eberle ---> Strome ---> Spooner ---> Nothing. Even worse: Pronger --->Eberle ---> Strome ---> Spooner ---> Nothing. But hey, they locked up their back up goalie for 3 years, so they got that going for them! And promoted him to starter from the looks of things.

How is chirelli still employed He’s been an unmitigating disaster since arriving there - first drafts McDavid and then every move he made after ends up an absolute disaster Yeah, but you can't even g...

Canucks and Swedes, Swedes and Canucks... Meds? - Your thoughts here appreciated Just keep them out of roles where they are expected to lead in the playoffs. Seriously, I don't get it. For a buncha folks who are supposedly descendants of the Vikings, they sure do skate around like pussies when the ...

Re: 2019 NHL ENTRY DRAFT - Vancouver

Blob the Canucks currently would be picking 12th overall if the season ended now, it’s obvious to everyone we won’t be picking top 10, so who we picking in this area? Krebs, Byram, Newhook, Lavoie, Suzuki, Robertson, Broberg, kaliyev, Boldy, Zegras, Turcotte etc.? The Nucks need more skill in the t...

NILander - 20 games - 1 goal 3 assists
Leaves were 20-8 without Nylander.

Leaves are 9-9-2 with Nylander.

Re: GDT: Jan 18 Sabres@ Canucks 7pm SN

Was at this game. Perhaps the worst start I have seen from them in ages, definitely the worst I've been at. They came out with half of their legs asleep, they had no intensity, and they couldn't make a pass to save their lives. Sutter is just horrible on the PP. For some reason they had him manning ...
