Re: The Official CC "All Thing Leaves" thread

Marner's agent going to let the Zurich Lions of the Swiss League assist in leveraging Dubas. Nice.

Re: I used to frequent this board back in the day -- I have some questions

One thing, if nothing else, that you have to absolutely respect about this here Canucks message board is the outright undeniably supreme ability to derail any thread regardless of the topic. It's truly an art form unto itself.

Re: I used to frequent this board back in the day -- I have some questions

2) How about updating this site with a more modern forum experience? Welcome! I'll be honest, this is the only message board I use, so I have no idea what a modern forum experience would entail. That being said, in the trade-off between more features and a faster-loading site, I'm a big fan of how ...

Re: Training Camp - 2019

What I wanna see is Miller with Pettersson and Boeser on a high scoring first line and Ferland, Gaudette and Jake on a hack, whack and smack third line. I know most have Ferland on the second or even the first line but if they want three effective lines scoring, I really like the idea of him with t...

Re: Canucks Young Guns

I was strictly referring to the fact that Binnington didn't win the Calder but won a Stanley Cup in his rookie season..... Yeah, that'd be awesome. Although, if we're going to have any type of surprise/cinderella run, I think it's going to be Marky Mark carrying the ball and standing on his head. U...

Re: The Official CC "All Thing Leaves" thread

https://www.sportsnet.ca/hockey/nhl/kevin-shattenkirk-rangers-buyout-pretty-pissed-off/ Shattenkirk had offers from six or seven teams in total, according to Whyno — reportedly including the Toronto Maple Leaves and Winnipeg Jets — but opted to sign with the Bolts. Apparently he's not pissed off eno...

Re: Canucks Young Guns

I'm hoping he breaks out with the same kind of success as Binnington. I was actually thinking/hoping about that for Mikey D in a couple years. Not a top end prospect, kind of under the radar, comes out of nowhere and becomes a top caliber goalie. :D I was strictly referring to the fact th...

Re: Around the league (signings, RFAs injuries)

Shattenkirk doesn’t move the needle much in T Bay I think he will. He was successful behind better defenseman, like Pietrangelo in St. Louis, and then disappeared when expected to be "the man" on his own. Playing behind Hedman, McDonaugh, I expect we will see him rebound. Maybe he won't be as good ...

Re: The Official CC "All Thing Leaves" thread

If an employee isn't living up to his contract there should be a clause that allows his dismissal, albeit a shit-canning with some hefty compensation, and there shouldn't be a pound of flesh exacted from the people who want to part ways with a sack of shit performer. Reasonably I'd say a buyout sho...

Can he still Be nominated for the Calder?
Yup!
I'm hoping he breaks out with the same kind of success as Binnington.

Good looking list, but can you really put Demko in there?

I guess I would ask for a definition of Prospect ;)

But damn, that looks way better than it did a few years ago!!
Demko has played 10 NHL games. He's a prospect.

Re: Trade rumours & armchair pipe dreams 19-20 Sponsored by SKYO

I think we want to be a contender for years to come. Meaning taking the age of Bo, Brock, Pete and Quinn as the nucleus. Edler is probably serving his last two. Myers and Tanev are mature defense men. Benn is older and is the kind of guy who will possibly get into another type of work in hockey whe...

Re: Trade rumours & armchair pipe dreams 19-20 Sponsored by SKYO

But about 5-6 people on here say they don't want two small dmen! future $8M - Barrie 5'10 - 190lbs turning 29 next offseason, current $2.325M (future $3.5M? AAV) Stecher 5'10 - 186lbs. turning 26 next year, so still some upside but with a much more reasonable cap hit. Plus we gotta look at champion...
