Re: Francesco Ballard

Money wise, they are great owners.

Interference wise, they are at the level of Harold Ballard.

Re: Trade rumours & armchair pipe dreams 18-19 Sponsored by SKYO

You’d be better off to mention the players Vancouver had a chance at drafting in 08-10 that would have had an impact in the 11 playoffs. As said already Karlsson was rated in the late 20s and obviously was a great gamble. Using him is a bit disingenuous. Who are the guys the Canucks could have legi...

Oh Jeebus. Oilers get Jack Hughes.

:scowl:
Or maybe they give us a 1st for Tanev
That is a trade I could see happening. Oilers 1st for either Tanev or Edler. Something along those lines make sense for both sides.

Re: 2019 NHL ENTRY DRAFT - Vancouver

I think we are lottery team again this year, but probably in the 8 - 12 range. We will be introducing a few rookies and do a sell off after. It is the year after I think we will make the playoffs. Only 1 more year of pain, IMO.

Leaning towards sign him and give him protected minutes on the 3rd pairing. Make room by moving out the scrubs for mid round picks.
Our scrubs are not worth mid round picks.
mid to late round picks. Happy now?

Re: Around the league (signings, RFAs injuries)

Yeah, that is a good call HW. I would take either Hamhuis or Bieksa on a 1 year deal. Trading away the others for picks would be fine. That is what Blob would call good asset management. He might even crack a smile if it happened. Hansen, sorry to say no. We have enough of his type to provide that b...

Re: Free Agency 2018 & Everything Related

Reaves will cash in. He was just moved for a 1st round pick. Whoever lands him will be overpaying There's been a lot of drooling over Reaves on this board, but Pitt gave up a 1st for him, then traded him away for a 4th and a C-level prospect. He scored Vegas' only GWG in the Finals, but was a healt...

Agree, depending on how much, he could still be worth it though. Will be interesting to see what he signs for.

Re: Free Agency 2018 & Everything Related

I thought I read that Reaves is an UFA, I can see him being signed by the Canucks. Probably a depth D man that can is willing to fight too. Other than that, don't see another signing unless they throw the big money at Bozak. Personally, I like the idea of keeping the cap space free for the most part...

Re: Free Agency 2018 & Everything Related

He said last season that he was willing to come back but would want a 2 year deal and with an agreement that he would not be traded for at least the first season. Like you said, he would want some stability.

Pouliot signs a 1 year, 1.1m deal. Not a bad 'show me' contract.

Burrows on waivers for purpose of buyout. Always liked him but was glad to see Benning sell high on a player for once. Great trade by Vancouver. No, I don't think we should bring him back.
