Re: 2019 NHL ENTRY DRAFT - Vancouver

Krebs or Boldy if they are available. Soderstrom if they're not; hopefully not. Soderstrom screams a ceiling of max 4D Hamhuis without the physicality. I know the blueline is a mess, but a top-6 W or C is more valuable than a 4D. We got Woo in the 2nd round and we have Juolevi coming in, so why not...

Re: 2019 NHL ENTRY DRAFT - Vancouver

Ya I'm with you buds. Its a pretty intriguing part of being a fan of a rebuilding team. Its always good to follow who you wanted to see if you were right. I'm pretty sure PLD was going to be our pick as he wasnt slated to go 3rd but unfortunately for us the blow jobbers bumped him up...rightly so. ...

Re: 2019 NHL ENTRY DRAFT - Vancouver

We got lucky, to be honest most folks here follow the draftees a lot more than yours truly. All anyone has to go on is whats reported in prospect articles and maybe watching a CHL playoff game or 2. Other than that were all basically just checking height, weight and which hand these kids shoot with...

Re: 2019 NHL ENTRY DRAFT - Vancouver

Now he intrigues me. Size, speed, skating, skill, points. Plays all three forward positions and draws Rick Nash comparisons. Ranked best professional prospect? Why is he not ranked higher? Lavoie? Major consistency issues and he’s very old for this class, just barely missed last draft. He’s been dr...

Re: 2019 NHL ENTRY DRAFT - Vancouver

5’-7” and skating is questionable SKYO. Five foot seven. I’m watching these playoffs and the small guys like Gaudreau are struggling. Look at the size of the Avalanches 3 best forwards - McKinnon, Rantanen and Landeskog. If our top 3 skill guys are Pettersson, Hughes and Caulfield I’m worried for u...

Re: 2019 NHL ENTRY DRAFT - Vancouver

I was hoping for Kaeden Korczak with our 2nd round pick but no way he makes it out of the 1st round This Harley kid is a riser, big smooth skating D-man. Starting to come around to Newhook. The top 10 looks pretty decent. Canucks should get a decent player at 10. Not out of the realm that some of C...

Re: 2019 NHL ENTRY DRAFT - Vancouver

Caulfield has 7 goals in 2 World U18 Championship games. For a team he’s played together with all year vs a hodge podge collective of teams whipped together over a span of 2 days with players trying figure out how to play with players they’ve never played with before or rarely have There's only so ...

Re: Canuck News and Notes - 2018-2019

So I was chatting with some friends today about the Canucks. Nothing earth shattering, just a few tidbits. Players very excited about Quinn Hughes. Say he’s the real deal. Players very excited by a Pettersson, say he’s the real deal. Pouliot done for sure, players have no confidence in him. Gudbran...

Re: Canucks Young Guns

I didn’t miss any point. Canucks are among the slowest teams in the league. Boucher (or Leivo) is 26 and he can’t skate. I know he has a great shot but he’s pretty much a one trick pony at the NHL level. He’s a great AHL player however. There we go. Looks better now. Definitely more complete. I'm n...

Re: 2018-2019 Playoffs - Round 1

^^^defence and goaltending, Rikster^^^ from the nets out. Goaltending is pretty set. Draft Soderstrom. With Hughes here now and Woo, Juolevi and Tryamkin on the way. Good times to be had thanks to the Benning Plan! I'm leaning Soderstrom as well, RHD who can move the puck, play good D and in genera...

Re: 2018-2019 Playoffs - Round 1

Kudo's to the Blue Jackets.... The rumor was that ownership hired Torts in Vancouver against Gillis wishes, does what Torts has done since he left Vancouver mean that ownership knows hockey better than Gillis? :) Playoff hockey is as much about luck as it is skill.... Sucks that the Canucks had so ...

Re: 2018-2019 Playoffs - Round 1

Not to reign in your anti-gillis vitriolic rant-fest but he took the team to within a few luongo beach balls of a cup. Give the Players Agent a medal. Yippie Kay yay. 2nd best? What colour is that ribbon? I forget. Gotta be better than last best, which is what we've been over the past 4 years.........

Re: 2019 NHL ENTRY DRAFT - Vancouver

I’m just not seeing the chips to get another first but if we are bringing back Edler and they are wanting to promote Juolevi then the left side is stacked with Edler, Hughes, Hutton and Juolevi. Tryamkin also is a left shot D-man as well as Sautner, Teves and Brisebios. Maybe Hutton is moved but at...
