Re: The Rebuild...
With Bishop going to Dallas, they now have to move one of Niemi or Lehtonen. Both have 1 year left on their deals. Perfect situation for the Canucks to forget about Miller if the Stars will give up a decent pick, maybe 2nd round, to take one of these two contracts off their hands so they can sign Bi...

Re: Around the league (signings, RFAs injuries)
Crazy trades. Gudbranson really does look better. The Subban-Weber deal is way worse. Larsson could turn out to be a consistent top 2 for Edmonton and Hall can be injury prone, so that could, maybe (although still terrible right now) work out. But freaking Weber for Subban, age, contract terms, nuts...

Re: Around the league (signings, RFAs injuries)
And the Ducks have a lot of cap room to work with. The Ducks have a pretty low internal cap that they have enforced, I would think this signing means they are going to have a lot of young players in their lineup in the coming years. Though they seem to have a good amount of talent in that area. yes...

13m ago ANAHEIM DUCKS RYAN KESLER Kelser signs six-year extension with Ducks Ryan Kesler has signed a six-year contract extension with the Anaheim Ducks. The deal carries an average annual value of $6.875 million. Yowza, and with an NMC for the first 5 yrs. Well, it's Cup or Bust for the Ducks I gu...

Re: Around the league (signings, RFAs injuries)
Flames sign Hamilton, 6 years @ 5.75per. So much for the Bruins story that they couldn't sign Hamilton for less than 6.5 million which lead to his trade. They say he turned down a 5 year 5.5 per deal. Really shaking my head on this one. Now the rumour is they feel he is all offence and no defence, ...

Re: The Official CC "All Thing Leaves" thread
TSN now reporting it as a done deal. 8 yrs, 50 million! Babcock is a good coach, no doubt about it, but he's also not Scotty Bowman. The guy has led talent rich teams in Detroit and the Olympic team, to victory, but his teams have not been past the first round but once in the past 5 years I think. ...

Re: Around the league (signings, RFAs injuries)
Lancer - the Nucks are up against the cap as well, how can they take advantage of another team? Get KB3, Higgins and maybe Burrows too off the roster for picks/prospects by the draft; would free up about 10 mill I think. I'm not saying that would be easy to do, but I'm hoping GMJB is seeking Bieksa...

Re: Around the league (signings, RFAs injuries)
As disappointed/pissed we may be imagine the problems in Pittsburg, Boston, LA, SJS. Tampa may join the list along with Washington or NYI. All teams with much higher expectations than us. Tampa and NYI are on the rise, they will be ok. But the others, well let's just say they have some rebuilding t...

Re: Around the league (signings, RFAs injuries)
If Lowe is really pushed out of the hockey ops side, in favor of Chiarelli, who will then be making the real hockey decisions, not McTavish, then the damn Oilers just got a lot better. The McDavid lottery luck gave Katz clearly the double benefit of both getting McDavid and realizing he could not po...

Re: Around the league (signings, RFAs injuries)
If Katz has a brain in his head on hockey matters, which seems unlikely, he'd can the whole nepotistic Oilers hierarchy, go out and get someone like Chiarelli/Shero or any of the top Asst, GMS in the league to manage this now treasure trove of assets. If I was an Oilers' fan - and thank god I'm not ...

Re: The Official CC "All Thing Leaves" thread
What a joke of an organization. So, now does what Darren Dreger do without his cousin in upper mgmt in TO. I guess he'll wait until Burke hires Nonis in CGY and then become the mouthpiece for that organization. Man, Nonis signing Clarkson to that deal may rank as one of the worst of all time. dopey ...

And then he'll sign an over-priced contract with a team that does not see that his skill set has diminished; but said team is out of ideas for building a club so they sign him: Translation: he signs with the leaves or the Oilers.rats19 wrote:All 30 teams have to agree..

Re: Time to Change the Oil.
Like we need more evidence of the stupidity of the Oilers' org, they are now considering sending Draisaitl back to junior if his rights get traded to Kelowna. This Oilers' team, that keeps throwing young players into the NHL grind, with no serious veteran support, then watches them wilt and not able...

Re: Around the league (signings, RFAs injuries)
So both Colorado goalies are injured. They are now in desperation mode trying to find a good starter, who can then be a good back up when Varly gets back. I wonder what we could get for Lack? Do we want to go there? They are said to be looking hard at Vokoun. I was posting on this issue in T&R, but...
