Re: From Bountiful to Ponoka

Bottom line is the Flames did get better. By adding a reasonable, slow, physical stay at home defender that would be a 5-6 guy on a contender but will play top four on the Flames. Sad. Well the Flames aren't a contender - they are rebuilding. They got a decent D man for spare parts. Nothing sad abo...

Re: From Bountiful to Ponoka

Good trade for the Flames. They didn't give up much for a decent D man with a decent contract for another 2 years after this season. I don't have any expectations for this team, their start, and even their current play is better than I expected. I'm still hoping for a top draft pick, but it doesn't ...

Re: OOTS: 2013-14

Generally I dislike California-teams/Florida-teams/Sabres/ Flames fans . Only their fans? Strangelove is a very appropriate name for you  oopsie, sorry bro, forgot you were here! I did say "generally" though right. Hey no problem - I just thought it was strange that you hated...

Re: OOTS: 2013-14

From this past draft, you could see it in Seth's face that he was quite pissed at not being selected 1st.....let alone, the top 3. He's playing like a guy that is on a mission to prove his detractors wrong. Brown K. Seth Jones could very well be the NHL's best defenceman for the next decade. The Me...

Re: OOTS: 2013-14

He's the real deal is he ? NHL careers are built on the first two weeks of the season on this board I see. Have you even see this kid play ? What does he do well ? Can he play at both ends of the ice ? Is he physical, good on faceoffs ? You probably don't know what hand he shoots. Is he a strong sk...

Re: From Bountiful to Ponoka

I hate Calgary as a city, but I find ALL cities, Vancouver included, as hideous, ugly places to live. That's a ripping yarn there country boy, but the fact remains that Vancouver looks like a postcard and Calgary resembles a fucking garbage dump. An ugly post card. Don't get me wrong - being BC bor...

Re: From Bountiful to Ponoka

Calgary is an absolutely hideous city. The place looks like Baghdad or Beirut and is likely the only city in the country that is uglier than both Edmonton and Toronto. I hate Calgary as a city, but I find ALL cities, Vancouver included, as hideous, ugly places to live. I think living in a city is a...

What are the Flames doing - are they trying to screw up their No. 1 draft pick spot in the next off season?

Re: From Bountiful to Ponoka

This is an organization that has only gone beyond the first round once in 24 years. In 12 of those years they missed the playoffs entirely. Some in Lameland cling to the hope that in four more years they will be potentially improved. Truth is, the Lames and the Leaves suck because the Great ...

Re: From Bountiful to Ponoka

I'm willing to see what he can do for the next three seasons or so. :mex: Four more years. Glad you finally agree. Finally agree?? I never thought otherwise. These guys are at rock bottom - you don't go from rock bottom to a contender or even a playoff team in less than that time frame. I think it ...

Re: From Bountiful to Ponoka

I'm willing to see what he can do for the next three seasons or so. The Flames are going to suck at least that long no matter who the GM and President are. I'd be happy if they are bottom feeders and amass some high draft picks. Who knows, maybe in that time, I'll be calling for Burke's head, like I...

Why would Flames post game press conferences be lively? Does Hartly have a pulse.
Ok - maybe not every post game press conference - only the press conferences Burke is involved in. In Vancouver's case, post game presser with Torts are going to be something I will look forward to.

Re: From Bountiful to Ponoka

It's "Leafs" - not "Leaves", at least in terms of Toronto's hockey team. Yes - they are only potentially improved at this point. One playoff run doesn't make a good team - hell, they might not even make the playoffs next season. The improvement in the team is the players that Burke has brough...
