Re: What to do with Hughes

Although Quinn 'only' had two assists against Canada, he may have played better than against Sweden. Lot's of good set ups & elusive edge work.

Re: What to do with Hughes

A three assist night for Quinn vs Sweden today in the Summer Showcase preliminaries. The last assist was impressive.

Re: Trevor Linden is stepping down in VAN

The value of Linden's 'good will' with the fans appears to have diminished, in the eyes of ownership.

Predictable.

Re: The Great Jim Benning Debate!

IMO - these 3 new guys are not barring young guys from playing on the team on any line. I do not assume young guys will be brought in to be piss and vinegar, very few can do that. Right now I do not see any prospect that would fit that role. Good call Reef, obviously you understand Canucks' present...

Re: The Great Jim Benning Debate!

An interesting article that summarizes & investigates what many have been thinking ... Barring trades, there won’t be much competition at Canucks training camp. "We do have to be careful with what we do this summer,” said Trevor Linden a few months ago. “We're okay with being young next year. We're ...

Re: Free Agency 2018 & Everything Related

Like the players (AR, JB), not so much the term. Seller dwellers pay a premium on Canada day.

However, if JB avoided trade clauses, I'm OK with it.

^^

They're worth a look by the brain trust's 'resident genius' (alias JB).

Washington must be wary of arbitration with Devante Smith-Pelly. .. Can't be a case of
what have you done for us lately?

Re: 2018 NHL DRAFT - Who does JB take.

Like Lockwood, Woo is going to have to learn to pick his spots more when going for the hits. Reckless abandon results in unnecessary injuries. Try reading the scouting reports, he isn’t reckless abandon like Virtanen and Dumba were in junior. He’s always on the right side of the puck and is very sm...

Re: The 2018 NHL Entry Draft

Just missed on Zadina, then went for an LSD trip (Left Smurf D).

WTF.

Here's hoping Benning & Co know lots about Hughes commitment (college/NHL), sturdiness, & the direction of NHL officiating (will crushing checks on small guys be called). A risky move this is.

Re: 2018 NHL DRAFT - Who does JB take.

I still think we'd be lucky to get Dobson, but the best case (inside pundits draft ranges) is even better for the Canucks.

Hoping for the best: (1) Filip Zadina 6-0 RW; (2) Alexander Alexeyev 6-4 LD; (3) Curtis Douglas 6-9 C.

Positional needs be damned, take the best talent available.

I like Boucher’s shot but honestly he has t shown much. To me Goldobin has more upside.
Agreed.

Boucher hasn't been able to take the next step & develop the ability to get that shot on target when it counts, & from where it counts.
