Re: Around the league (signings, RFAs injuries)

^^ The term 'bullshit' could be applied to a lot of board posts. It's possible that you believe it applies to the statement that ... 'bad cap is expensive to get rid of' (per discussion). I believe that most people don't get too upset when a discussion doesn't go the way they want. Apparently peacoc...

Re: Around the league (signings, RFAs injuries)

He's a 4th-liner over there with 4th line icetime who avoids contact at all costs (12 forwards average more icetime-per-game than him). But fine, he saves them having to pay some other slug the league minimum $750K, so you could say they're burning $750K less than I said. So then: In 2020 a team ta...

Just because Stan gets the left over office & equipment doesn't mean you should pick on him.

Re: Meet the new boss...

One condition to Rutherford accepting the job was hockey operations receiving autonomy, Sportsnet's Iain MacIntyre reports. ^^ This is what Franky wants us to believe - because MacIntyre is such a credible, independent source. I hope Stan enjoyed the coffee while he was in the big chair. :drink: Be...

Re: Around the league (signings, RFAs injuries)

In responce to our posts on the Canucks-Arizona mega deal, as a reference for possible cap issues with Canucks' Myers contract.... "In 2020 a team taking on Loui would have been taking on a COMPLETELY USESLESS PLAYER, and in so doing burn $5M cash But in 2021 a team taking on Loui would have been t...

Tonight's effort was consistent with what we saw against LA, but with the loss of 2 of the Canucks top 4 D. The Canucks stuck together through some adversity without crumbling.

Miller continues to be an adventure. High risk, high reward. :?

Re: Around the league (signings, RFAs injuries)

Myers will cost a high pick or prospect to get him out of here. It isn’t that simple. Teams pay to get out of onerous contracts [img ] [mod edit] [ /img] A budget team or a rebuilding team doesn't care about the cap. Myers at $1M in real dollars has positive value... The way I understand it: The en...

Re: Coaching Change? Yay or Nay.

Although I like Boudreau as a coach for these Canucks, am expecting a bumpy road ahead. So far we've seen a more assertive & energetic squad.

Hope to see progressive improvement in systems play, & more confident shooters next. This will take time.

The plot thickens. 8-)

Re: Around the league (signings, RFAs injuries)

War Giraffe hit it out of the park with that contract. That agent is a shark. Hambone and Poolman aren't doing bad for third pairing righty types either. Mr Aquilini takes care of his boys... Franky is a kid with an ant farm, poking around & playing god. His Canucks generosity is not benevolent. IM...

Re: Canucks News n Notes 21-22

I tried coming up with a top 10 list of Vancouver Canucks greatest Canadian born hockey players of all time and discovered it to be a very lame list 1. Linden 2. Smyl 3. Bertuzzi 4. Luongo 5. McLean 6. Ronning 7. Tanti 8. Jovanovski 9. Burrows 10. Morrison Made me realize we’ve never had a real sup...

So far so good.

Canucks look more assertive & have had better quality scoring chances than previous games.

Haven't had to PK though.

Re: Coaching Change? Yay or Nay.

Gotta say that this live press conference with Boudreau is encouraging in at least one way: He's the most articulate coach this team has had that I've heard firsthand. Torts was & is articulate, but he had temper problems. The Hartley incident was the beginning of the end of his stint with the Canu...
