Re: Canuck News and Notes - 2018-2019

Over all I am enjoying the games though. It's nice to have hope for the future. Pettersson's skill is entertaining. More kids are on the way. This season's Canucks have shown more speed, sand, face-off wins, & defensive support from the forwards (our D needs all the help it can get). The loss of Be...

I am sad, I open myself and share my feelings and I get ripped like this.
With friends like this ... its best to have a sense of humour.

Fortunately, they're easily distracted.

Well, ... maybe not easily enough.

Re: GDT: Canucks @ Jets, Oct,18/18; 5:00pm, SN1-SD

Neither Eriksson or Goldobin have any physical presence. Goldobin has speed, shows flashes of offensive talent, & is developing defensive awareness. Eriksson is slow, tries to provide offense (but is too slow to be effective), & has defensive ability (but is too slow to be effective). Goldobin is ge...

Eriksson looked worse than last season. A combination of slow & disinterested.

His current level of play can not be a good influence on the kids.

In this game, the Canucks would have been better off with Leipsic, & possibly, someone on the Comets.

Re: Canuck News and Notes - 2018-2019

The Pettersson incident isn't getting the Canucks much respect is some quarters. Some find it amusing. Calgary’s Sportsnet 960 radio, launched a contest Monday morning asking listeners to “name the finishing move Matheson used on Patterson". The winning suggestion receives tickets to a 'Pizza Pigout...

Re: 2018 Young Stars Tourny Pentiction

Kulbakov was solid in goal. He signed with the Canucks (possibly for the ECHL) just last July 16.

If he keeps this up, he might follow Burrows example. :mex:

Re: 2018 Young Stars Tourny Pentiction

Brilliant pass reception by Dahlen. Reached behind at full stride, continuing on without turning around or breaking stride.

Entertaining skill.

Re: 2018 Young Stars Tourny Pentiction

Dahlen has made some nice plays / passes. The competition isn't great, but his play in this game is still encouraging.

Re: What to do with Hughes

Although Quinn 'only' had two assists against Canada, he may have played better than against Sweden. Lot's of good set ups & elusive edge work.

A three assist night for Quinn vs Sweden today in the Summer Showcase preliminaries. The last assist was impressive.

Re: Trevor Linden is stepping down in VAN

The value of Linden's 'good will' with the fans appears to have diminished, in the eyes of ownership.

Predictable.

Re: The Great Jim Benning Debate!

IMO - these 3 new guys are not barring young guys from playing on the team on any line. I do not assume young guys will be brought in to be piss and vinegar, very few can do that. Right now I do not see any prospect that would fit that role. Good call Reef, obviously you understand Canucks' present...

Re: The Great Jim Benning Debate!

An interesting article that summarizes & investigates what many have been thinking ... Barring trades, there won’t be much competition at Canucks training camp. "We do have to be careful with what we do this summer,” said Trevor Linden a few months ago. “We're okay with being young next year. We're ...
