Re: Canucks News and Notes 2017-2018

Pretty affordable and low risk term for Gudbranson - 3 years - $4M per. Great signing, glad to see Guddy will be staying a board. I would have been willing to go with a 4 year deal, but 3 is fine. He probably would have got more as a UFA. It's pretty much the same deal Sbisa got, but I think Guddy ...

Re: Canucks News and Notes 2017-2018

Diehard, the Avalanche fixed their defence in one draft - Makar and Timins, and the Duschene trade - Girard. And don't forget the O'Reilly trade, Zadarov is playing good hockey finally. Anyhow, Benning can do a lot for this team's D with a top 10 pick in this draft and a high 2nd round pick. Unlike...

Jim Benning should try to sway Zach Whitecloud a undrafted college UFA damn to sign with the Canucks. Zach Whitecloud has become one of college hockey’s hottest undrafted free agents with scouts flocking to watch the 6-foot-2, 203-pound right-handed shooting blue liner. Front offices have been worki...

Re: Canucks News and Notes 2017-2018

Media is there to sell clicks basically, that's their job - the villains. Glad the Canucks management don't give a shit what the media thinks and are doing their jobs - the hero's. Gudbranson when 100% is a beast and he's finally getting his confidence back and comfortable in the system/teammates/co...

Re: Canucks News and Notes 2017-2018

Pretty affordable and low risk term for Gudbranson - 3 years - $4M per.
Bob McKenzie:

Gudbranson will get $4.4M next season, $4.6M the season after that and $3M in the third and final year of the deal, for an AAV of $4M.

This contract does NOT include a NTC of any kind

Re: Trade rumours & armchair pipe dreams 17-18 Sponsored by SKYO

I'm fine with Sutter for the next 1-2 years, maybe 3, but after that he'll be nothing but a drain on the cap. Sutter only has 3 years left on his contract, so when Pettersson signs his 3 year ELC this summer, Sutter's contract will expire when Pettersson's 2nd contract starts in the year 2021, so t...

Re: Trade rumours & armchair pipe dreams 17-18 Sponsored by SKYO

Does anybody still like Sutter? He's a shutdown centre who is average at that role, is one of the worst passers on the team and probably in the league, doesn't play physical at all, 25-35 points average in a season (career high is 34, on pace for less than 30 this year if he played all 82 games). I...

Re: Canucks News and Notes 2017-2018

Edler-Guddy MDZ-Stecher Juolevi-Pouliot Tanev and Hutton traded. Tanev the preferred targets are Liljegren and Cal Foote types, long term D projects that fall in line with developing with Pettersson, Gaudette and Demko. Plus ideally we draft another key dman in 2018 draft. Ultimately we are not expe...

Re: Trade rumours & armchair pipe dreams 17-18 Sponsored by SKYO

If you think the team can get Kane for 6, then forget JVR, Neal and Burakovski and go all in for Tavares. Tavares Horvat Petersson Gaudette Centre position is set for the next 10-12 years. That's the ideal scenario of having an in-prime #1 line with the young guns behind them, similar to the Boston...

Re: Trade rumours & armchair pipe dreams 17-18 Sponsored by SKYO

SKYO buddy, this one is for you. :P I'll start by running with your Washington deal and taking it further. If they have interest in Hutton, and have lost interest in Burakovsky and just want to be rid of him, then Hutton + Gagner for Burakovsky + Beagle. I would also see what it would take to get T...

Re: Canucks News and Notes 2017-2018

Dale Tallon and Luongo are choked! Gudbranson was their future captain, leader and defensive behemoth, now will be locked up by the Canucks, the big beast is staying put! IMESHO that means a Tanev deal is likely if not this TDD, then at the draft.....that is IF it's worth it like a bonafide blue-chi...

Re: Elephant in the Room - Trade the Sedins

facts, but like it or not the Sedins were the Canucks franchise for many years so they get auto-respek.

I figure they'll decide during the two-week open discussion prior to UFA season, so management can plan their july 1st battle plan.

Re: The 2018 NHL Entry Draft

Jesse Puljujarvi was unfairly compared to Laine way too much prior to the draft, everyone was like "WHO TO PICK?" Laine vs Puljujarvi. Laine the sniper vs the big skilled winger in Puljujarvi. Clear winner in the end, but Puljujarvi will come around imo, just a helluva lot slower than expected, he w...

Re: Trade rumours & armchair pipe dreams 17-18 Sponsored by SKYO

Andre Burakovsky seems to be on the outs with the Caps, plus he needs a new RFA contract this offseason, and with the Capitals wanting to shore up their defense, I wonder if a change of scenery trade could be worked with Ben Hutton going to the Caps and Burakovsky going to the Canucks.

Re: The 2018 NHL Entry Draft

Getting this thread back on track after it was once again rudely derailed .... I still say best player available and if you don’t land 1st and get Dahlin, the next three guys right now (could change closer to the draft) are forwards. Trade for a D man if you need to or beg Tryamkin to come back but...
