Re: Trade rumours & armchair pipe dreams 17-18 Sponsored by SKYO

The Sedins largely avoided injuries because they stayed in great shape and had GREAT on ice awareness. Everything they could control, they did. They didn't get blindsided much because they were never blind. They didn't throw their bodies around much (though they went to dirty places) -- they aren't...

Re: Canucks Young Guns

Pettersson should be fine, Patrick Kane started his NHL career at 18 turned 19 in Nov 2007.

Pettersson will start at 19 turning 20 in Nov.18', exactly the same age Nicklas Backstrom started his career 19yrs old->20yrs old in Nov in 2007.

Re: The 2018 NHL Entry Draft

Dahlin, Svechnikov, Tkachuk, Zadina and Hughes are guaranteed gonzo by the time we are picking the 7th pick. Who is that last prospect who will go top 6 who won’t be available to us? IMO it’s beteeen Bouchard, Wahlstrom and Boqvist who go top 6. I’m going with Bouchard. The Canucks will be deciding...

Re: The Rebuild...

Eriksson is what he is, he has the same gentleman style game as the twins, but he's a different style of point producer, he has a solid 200ft game, his metrics say he makes his linemates better, he's as reliable as they come, but how he gets his points is by being around the net and being an opportu...

Re: The Rebuild...

To reiterate on the Sedins retiring, I think the Canucks will be going through a huge culture change in how the team plays and its new swagger with the new young leaders at the helm. The Sedins represented the classy gentleman lifestyle, high IQ players who didn't engage in fighting and shied away f...

Re: Trade rumours & armchair pipe dreams 17-18 Sponsored by SKYO

So, the full 7 years you referred to earlier in this thread. Two questions, then: Does that seem to you like a genius-level performance? and If the Canucks are not contenders by 2020/2021, does that indicate to you that they need someone else to manage the re-build? 7 years seems to be a good healt...

Re: Trade rumours & armchair pipe dreams 17-18 Sponsored by SKYO

Didn't you agree the other day that the playoffs are a possibility next season? :? Not impossible but difficult, the great unknown is how the team responds to not having the Sedins there, notably not taking the lions share of all the offensive zone minutes and their impeccable powerplay skills etc ...

Re: Trade rumours & armchair pipe dreams 17-18 Sponsored by SKYO

Before the playoffs end the Canucks should look to trade Hutton and Granlund for picks, the team has a clogged LD and they should start to make room for dmen, the bottom pairing should be Pouliot and Guddy, with Juolevi starting his season in the AHL for at least half a season, then make his way to ...

Re: Trade rumours & armchair pipe dreams 17-18 Sponsored by SKYO

If you really want a 5 year rebuild, then look for a MEGA defenseman trade to happen by the 2019 trade deadline or July 1st, 2019 UFA signing. I can be flexible, relaxed --mellow, even -- about how long the rebuild going to take, but what I really want is for the architect of the rebuild, or one of...

Re: Trade rumours & armchair pipe dreams 17-18 Sponsored by SKYO

Ok ok, I'd like to see the Canucks in 2020 then, include the 2013 draft year as we can include the Winnipeg Jets top DMAN Byfuglien who was acquired in a 2010 trade via Rick Dudley the Thrashers GM. 7 years the new rebuild time needed to turn your franchise around, even Brian Burke said that on HNI...

Re: The Rebuild...

" The biggest change appears to be one that will now have Ryan Suter skate on the same defense pairing as Jonas Brodin. One person that was not a fan of that decision: Ryan Suter. The biggest problem Suter has is the fact that both he and Brodin are left-handed shots, which forces one of them to pl...
