Re: Around the league (signings, RFAs injuries)

Who knows meds, LA may have no choice but to pay Doughty $10M-$11M per, he and Kopitar are their key pieces, they'll just really have to try to move some difficult NTC players by moving prospects/picks with em. I’d be down for Dustin brown +. They'll probably end moving one of Toffoli or Pearson an...

Re: The Official CC "All Thing Leaves" thread

Mark Hunter had some good moments but lately he's been going for size and toughness in the draft and that hasn't worked out as well compared to when they went for skill, but dude has got some talent, he'll land somewhere for sure. https://editorinleaf.com/2018/05/22/toronto-maple-leafs-think-mark-hu...

Re: The 2018 NHL Entry Draft

Pronman's top 10: 1. Dahlin 2. Svechnikov 3. Zadina 4. Kotakaniemi 5. Hughes 6. Wahlstrom 7. Boqvist 8. Bokk 9. Tkachuk 10. Merkley Bouchard and Dobson outside the top 10, pronman gives zero fucks for intangibles  , he goes purely based on talent. Nice to see a curveball in the mock draft/ranki...

Re: Playoffs

Sbisa being on the ice with under 5 to play holding on to a 1-goal lead in a game that will send his team to the SCF. Gallant gave an interview a short while ago and was asked about making players accountable. His response was somewhere along the lines of he doesn't believe in that. He said when yo...

Re: The 2018 NHL Entry Draft

The memorial cup has opened the world up to Dobson. I’d be shocked if he is still available at 7. He’s going ahead of Bouchard and Boqvist IMO, tough call on him passing Hughes and Tkachuk. Bummer I really wanted Dobson All good, just gotta have the Las Vegas Golden Knights model defense. McNabb - ...

Re: Trade rumours & armchair pipe dreams 17-18 Sponsored by SKYO

Kinda crazy but the younger (25yrs) and bigger(6'2,207lbs) Ben Hutton in his rookie year matched De Haan's top point total of 25pts. I'd like to see Huts one more year if he can get on Travis Green's good side, if not then deal him, but Huts is the type to really be a decent point producer in a dept...

Re: The 2018 NHL Entry Draft

Noah Dobson is up to 5 points 2g, 3a in 2 Memorial Cup games, it's unfortunate the London Knights team is in rebuild mode in Bouchard's draft year, anyways ONE of Boqvist, Bouchard or Dobson will be available for the Canucks to pick at #7. IF none are available at #7 then that means Tkachuk...

Re: Canucks Young Guns

All the more reason to swing for the fences and bring in Erik Karlsson Only if it doesnt require gutting the franchise. How much is too much? Theyll want a 1st, a blue chip prospect and a roster player at the absolute minimum. Thats a gut punch I think the Canucks have to acquire Erik Karlsson just...

Re: Canucks Young Guns

Sweden becoming World Champions for the second consecutive year also means that apart from winning the Swedish championship, winning the scoring title, setting a new all time record for points scored by a junior in the SHL, being named rookie of the year, regular season MVP, best forward and playof...

Re: Playoffs

They should have waited till Seattle was onboard and have the typical two team expansion draft , imagine ripping that Vegas team in half with half their star players in Seattle. Re: The 2018 NHL Entry Draft

I wonder with tkachuk committing to another year of ncaa if his stock will drop some. I also wonder if he’d be a kid that goes right to free agency to play with his brother (coming from a well off family where money might not be the biggest motivator). Papa Keith said no decision has been made yet;...

Re: Trade rumours & armchair pipe dreams 17-18 Sponsored by SKYO

The Sedins largely avoided injuries because they stayed in great shape and had GREAT on ice awareness. Everything they could control, they did. They didn't get blindsided much because they were never blind. They didn't throw their bodies around much (though they went to dirty places) -- they aren't...

Re: Canucks Young Guns

Pettersson should be fine, Patrick Kane started his NHL career at 18 turned 19 in Nov 2007.

Pettersson will start at 19 turning 20 in Nov.18', exactly the same age Nicklas Backstrom started his career 19yrs old->20yrs old in Nov in 2007.
