This draft is so deep, that whether we pick a D or a F, I feel like Canuck fans are going to be very happy.

...except those "fanz" who love to complain about everything that is

If it were up to me though, I'd go with one of the RHD all the way.
Dobson!!

Re: The 2018 NHL Entry Draft

Personally i like the potential of Boquist or Dobson over the other 2. Especially Hughes. 5'9 dmen are almost always a fail in the bigs. I'm hoping our pick is one of Dobson, Boqvist or maybe Wahlstrom. Absolutely. OW is up there for me as well. There's top line center potential in his game. I coul...

Re: Trade rumours & armchair pipe dreams 17-18 Sponsored by SKYO

If Hanifin were a right shot, I’d be more interested. There is no depth on the right side. If the only way to get him is by trading the 7th or part of our next core, forget about it. Keep the 7th and get a right shot defenseman to add to the core at the draft. For now the team has enough depth and ...

Re: Trade rumours & armchair pipe dreams 17-18 Sponsored by SKYO

I wonder if next year's first would be in play for an Hanifin-type player? Hanifin can improve the team today, as well as be a solid addition for the future/next 8-10 years. But if you move next year's 1st, you're gambling that the team climbs further out of the tank next season. I would be very co...

Re: The 2018 NHL Entry Draft

Nice collection of vidz there SKYO and time will tell, but I recall a number of times when Tryamkin was confused about why opponents were trying to engage him physically. It's obviously his preference not to fight. Of course he'll defend himself when he needs to, and look good doing it due to his s...

Re: The 2018 NHL Entry Draft

Well at least Tryamkin played LD on Team Russia at the World's, for a late in the draft choice I'd take the only RHD from Russia a small dude Nikita Makeyev. 5'8.5" 180lbs. Tryamkin can make up for his lack of size and Makeyev has muscle apparently, and is a QB, could be a possible steal if taken l...

Re: The 2018 NHL Entry Draft

Pretty poor comparison jovo, barker's best point total was 65pts in 69 games in his draft year, while Bouchard in the OHL draft year has 87pts in 65 games. Also in terms of their skating, Bouchard is miles better than Dana Murzyn/Cam Barker. Also that 2004 draft year was pretty weak, so there wasn'...

Re: The 2018 NHL Entry Draft

I think it is a top eight and Bouchard will be number nine. I think the best comparable to Bouchard is Paul Reinhard. He was a step slow but an excellent pp qb. He had a great career. Not a bad player but it seems the league is getting smaller and faster. He might have trouble with the speed. For s...

Re: Trade rumours & armchair pipe dreams 17-18 Sponsored by SKYO

In principle I'm ok with trading the 7th overall for Hanifin, but if Van has to add an asset not a chance. Hanifin is a solid #4 guy who could become a #3 guy, which is probably worth the 7 overall. Draft picks are always overvalued at draft time so perhaps there's a chance to squeeze something mor...

I am not sure how Gagner can make plays when he constantly loses faceoffs and puck battles. TBH, I rather have Sutter centering the second line than Gagner.

How about Dobson? He seems to be a bit more dynamic than Bouchard.

Re: WC 2018

Anders Nilsson is ripping it up in the worlds, he also had a good run in the 2015 KHL playoffs with a 1.54gaa, 0.935% in 20 KHL playoff games, maybe he's just a playoff type goalie and meh in the regular season. :?: Unfortunately, the Canucks will have a hard time making the playoffs if Nilsson doe...

Re: Trade rumours & armchair pipe dreams 17-18 Sponsored by SKYO

Good points, Aaron. Further, if Benning was will to swing a deal for Kane prior to July 1, say giving up a mid level prospect (Motte, Boucher etc.), in order to acquire his rights, Jim could offer him an 8 year deal with a slightly lower cap hit. That is, if Kane does in fact want to join Vancouver...

Re: Playoffs

I love that the Sharks are out. Now Vegas can come back to earth and recognize their place in the grand scheme of things. An expansion team. Shhshshsh The way I see it, one team from the West is going to have a chance to win their first Cup before the canucks do. I’d rather it be Winnipeg, but won’...
