Re: Canucks Young Guns
I guess Pod wouldn’t be eligible to play in the CHL either. Too bad, seems like he has the work ethic and physical stature to dominate the O.

Re: Around the league (signings, RFAs injuries)
This isn't just about Bettman/Daly/Burke et al getting even with Gillis, this effects a handful of teams. Detroit, LA (Philly), Montreal (Nashville), Minnesota, and Chicago. Zetterberg, Franzen, Carter/Richards, Weber, Suter/Parise, Hossa/Keith Heck, you can go right back to Mad Mike signing Rick Di...

This doesn't fall on Gillis.

Re: Around the league (signings, RFAs injuries)
I have no issue with Myers as a d-man on this club. He'd be an ideal top 4 to replace Tanev's minutes, while just being a steady, unspectacular giant d-man. He's not going to intimidate anyone, nor is he a push over. He has some puck skills, decent mobility and seems to be a good guy in the room. He...

Re: 2019 NHL ENTRY DRAFT - Vancouver
Miller plays all three forward positions. Has decent size and good wheels. A solid complimentary player who can play in all situations.
I'm sure this is just the first of several moves Benning will make in the coming weeks

Re: 2019 NHL ENTRY DRAFT - Vancouver
He's biggest assets are his work ethic and hockey sense. He's not afraid to take the puck to the net and hates to lose. He's been a captain on the international stage twice already. Good offensive ability, his skating is the only thing that held him back from a top 4 pick, as its only average. Comp...

Re: Canucks Contracts
Give him more term, and lower his cap hit. Give him a full NTC for 2 years, and a modified for the remaining 2-3.
Front load a 4 year deal worth $24 schmill.
$7.5, $6.5, $5.5, $4.5.

Re: Canucks Contracts
Much can happen between now and July 1st.
The objective here is to improve the defence for next year and beyond. If this means moving on from Edler, so be it, but I don’t believe anything until it’s official.

Re: Around the league (signings, RFAs injuries)
3 at 6, 4 at 6.5 or 5 at 7 actually seems about right.
I wouldn’t go any longer on term.

Re: Canucks Contracts
Correct me if I'm wrong here, but is the expansion draft not in June of 2021? This would mean that If Edler were to sign a two-year deal, only his first year would have a full NMC, while his 2nd would be a NTC thus leaving him exposed. Count me in on the EK train. Front load the deal and pair him wi...

I wonder if the new CBA will include something similar to the min criteria a player must have to be eligible for no-trade protection to that of guaranteed salary.
