Re: Salo
Would a trade be out of the question. Some stability to start the playoff would sure make me feel better. I was thinking that if Florida doesn't make the playoffs, then an offer to them for Keith Ballard wouldn't be a bad idea. An offer of Bieksa, Schnieder and a 2nd round pick. This would eliminate...

Re: Henrik
Although Henrik's doing ok, I wonder whether he would have done better if AV made them play without each other throughout the preseason. It took them time to develop into the players that they are at the NHL level. Maybe what was needed was time for them to learn to play without each other. We may h...

Re: Demitra's Shoulder
This doesn't supprise me, I thought something like this would happen. I think that Demitra may be the most fragile player on the team. I think we should give Wellwood time to play on the second line with Kesler and Raymond. More responsibility may be what 's needed to get him going. If he doesn't im...

Re: It's that time of year - Pick your starting lines
What about cap issues when making up the projected lines. Cap Space -2,975,000 from hockeybuzz.com MY W.A.G. My guess is that MG trades Raymond, Lewkowich and a second or third round draft choice for a bluechip prospect d-man(supposedly much weaker draft years coming up), Unloads Johnson (not that I...

Re: Prospects Camp
I think it's time to move Schnider for a decent prospect d man. If he could be moved for a player like John Moore http://www.hockeysfuture.com/prospects/john_moore . A puck mover with speed for the future. Or Ryan McDonagh, a good skater with size http://www.hockeysfuture.com/prospects/ryan_mcdonagh...

Re: wellwood
There seemed to be nothing between Kesler and Demitra (in fact he was mostly a post), so really it just comes down to Kesler. Do you think that it may be a consideration of management to buy out Demitra if good chemistry develops between Kesler and Sammuelson and Burrows continues on last years pac...

Re: wellwood
I did more reading and in one of the mags it said that Gillis wants to be involved in all aspects of player development which includes health, this includes on and off ice, off season as well. If that's so then MG may have seen enough of an improvement on Wellwoods part, which included the off seaso...

wellwood
I was on CDC :look: (no I don't read their forums) and the article on Wellwood states that he's down to 180lbs which means he should be quicker and in better shape. I'm curious what you guys think his limits are if he can remain disciplined and continues to work hard. My biggest concern is his foot ...

Zherdev
The rangers walked away from Zherdev. He was making around 3.5 mil. It's may be partly a cap issue now that Gaborik's there. Would he be suitable for the second line? Having Kesler centering Demitra and Zherdev looks not that bad. I know that he is lacking defensively, but Kesler and to a lesser ext...

Re: Can the Canucks afford HEATLEY?! (Cogliano, Penner and Smid)
I agree with Dr Dork about rather trying to get Vinny Lecavalier than Heatly if we are looking for a top six scorer. Kesler would be on Vinny's wing rather than at center which where I think he's more suited. And isn't Lecavalier and Louie friends? Which could possibly mean a slight discount to play...

Re: Ok, who is excited about 2009/10 canuck season?
canucksgm86 said If we can add an experienced puck-moving defenseman then I will be very excited. We still have a decent amount of cap room to add a solid puck-moving defenseman like Zubov? The Canucks need a game breaker from the back end and a guy like Zubov on a one year affordable contract could...

Re: Well That Was Underwhelming
I think that we're really not regressing at all. We just haven't moved forward especially in the defensive end which is where I think we need it the most. We need more speed on the back end. I pointed this out as the place where we would have problems against the Hawks after I watched the Flames bec...

Re: Off-Season in Vancouver --- what will happen?
does anyone know anything about Michel Ouellet. according to nhlnumbers.com he is getting paid 1.3mil and will become an UFA this summer. Between him, Krog at .65mil, La Barbera .825 mil, Sanford .65 mil, Pyatt 1.75, and Baumgartner .5mil all of who will be UFA we have some money that is freed up, e...

Re: GDT: R2G3 - Canucks in Chi-town - 5pm | CBC, VS
they're playing with a bit more grit and speed which I was hoping for and it seems to be paying off. Hope they keep it up. Kesler is looking good. Raymond's first playoff goal, congrats Raymond.
