Re: AROUND THE LEAGUE - 25-26

I dunno if this fits here, or in the "League Punbching Bag" thread, but...once again we are the asterix* beside a new record. Crosby sets Penguins all-time points record in win against Canucks Forward gets goal to pass Lemieux for most total points with franchise in regular season, playoffs https ...

Re: Canucks News N Notes 25-26

Maybe. But the skating dynamic I saw in that clip is not the skating I see now. Which means it may also be in his knees or spindly little legs. We shall see, let's hope. I think it comes from within. He hesitates over anticipates. It's like he's constantly second guessing his positioning. He looks ...

Re: Canucks News N Notes 25-26

Is Pettersson the new Patrik Laine? There seems to be some parallels there unfortunately. (early statistical success then his game falls off a cliff) I dunno. But, Craig Button sees him as a buyout candidate next season. I see Button as an idiot. I could see a trade, but a buyout is cap and ...

Re: AROUND THE LEAGUE - 25-26

Yup. You can't just throw names on a chart and call it good, nor can you look for shortcuts every year either. Look at the Oilers ffs. They were lifted more talent than anyone, and shortcuts have cost them dearly. When McJeezuz finally moves on, there is a book to be written on short cuts killing a ...

The AHL Muppets could lose us the game, but, we need the other 8 forwards playing right to win. We need big games from DeBrusk and DeBoeser

I don't mind our top 12 forwards when healthy, but we are asking a lot out of Lekkerimaki, Ratu, Karlsson and Sassons (I have mentally dismissed Bains). We cannot afford any passengers with the other forwards.

2-0 Canucks. Demko steals another.

Re: Is there a "Doctor" in the house?

My grampa started smoking at age 7, and lived to 100. He stirred herbicide with his left arm. Luck is a factor for everything.

Anyways, I have Diverticulitis, so I get scoped too. Last test came back all good, and as an added benefit, the doctor declared that I have/am a perfect a$$hole. :D

Re: Canucks News N Notes 25-26

I tend to agree about Bains. But he's a symptom. We only have 12 NHL caliber forwards, including Raty and Lekkerimaki. Bains, Aman, Karlsson, Sassons, etc are all AHLers. And it shows. Cootes and Kratsov too. Now, with 2 injuries, we are backfilling with AHLers. And none of them are over a buck ...

As long as the scotch is flowing, and I can finally hear Jim n color dude do the broadcast, I am all right. Damn, watching homer feeds the last 3 games almost sucked part of my soul out. 18 yr old scotch saved my life.

Yup. With Cootes down, and Sassons up, I see Bains on our AHL top line/NHL 4th line next game with Sassons and either Raty or Karlsson

Re: GDT: Blues @ Canucks Oct 13 4:30 PM PST PRIME

I think Foote likes Bains ability to pretend to be a brick wall blocking shots on the PK. Once Bains gets broken, Karlsson will be in. We could really use another 12/13 forward. None of Cootes, Bains or Karlsson are legit NHLers. Cootes likely stays until Blueger comes back. And then he can go stew ...

Edmonton's bottom 6 doesn't scare me. It kinda looks like a tire fire (apologies to the War Giraffe).
