Re: Trade rumours & armchair pipe dreams 18-19 Sponsored by SKYO

Am I missing something here? At what point was Gallagher on the market? I've looked everywhere and I see no rumours that a 30-goal forward on a team in a playoff spot would be available even over this summer. ...and for Hutton??? Seriously, Skyo, dude, hook me up with your supplier. That shit must b...

Re: Canucks Young Guns

Marty St. Louis was a minor leaguer forever, but that had more to do with size bias in the league at the time.

I think the thing I hate about Botchford is the TMZ act and fake shouting and screaming.
It's why I just stick to reading, vice listening to him. His on-microphone/camera act can drive me up the wall.

Re: Vancouver's Hockey "Media"

I appear to be an absolute minority here - I find Botchford to be insightful. I can see how he would piss off the JB 'knob-gobblers' though. Botch isnt afraid to straight shoot and he has a zany sense of humour. (Now I've really put myself out there on my own little island) You’re not alone. Botch ...

As long as there’s no NMC/NTC. Put him at a respectable cap hit and he could become an attractive trade asset when Demko’s ready.

Kesler talking about the past today. Kesler: The Cup is the only thing I wanted. When I left Vancouver, it wasn't about me not liking it there or teammates. It was just after 2011, it affects you mentally & personally. It was hard walking back into that arena next year cause I always got that Game ...

Re: Canuck News and Notes - 2018-2019

It seems Utica (and the Canucks organization) have a certain style of play and system they want all their prospects to embrace. Problem is that it appears to reward two-way grinders than to-6 skilled forwards. Nobody dynamic has come up from Utica on how long? Some players need it (hello Virtanen) a...

Re: Trade rumours & armchair pipe dreams 18-19 Sponsored by SKYO

People who want to trade Virtanen should give their head a shake. If this team is to be a contender it needs wingers like Virtanen - even if he is on the 3rd line. If there is one weakness on this roster beyond the blueline, it's on the wing so we would rather trade a young asset from a position wit...

Re: Trade Deadline, Feb.25, 2019 ?

What a comment from Benning here: Young players dont want to pay their dues. They want to be given NHL time. We felt Dahlen wasnt there yet. Linus Karlsson doesn’t wow me as a prospect when I look at his stats this year, but given the comments above I guess it’s a matter of getting a bad attitude o...

Silfverberg signs a new contract with the Ducks, 5 years at 5.25 per annum.

I work in the same office as his brother. I think he earns less than that... :|
Hard not to like that deal though.
He must love the area enough to want to put up with the inevitable rebuild.

Re: Canuck News and Notes - 2018-2019

Is there anything the organization can do to address this problem? They got rid of players who got under the officials' skin. I thought the hiring of Jim "Good Ol' Boy" Benning and Trevor "You Owe Me One, Gary" Linden was intended partially to bring the Canucks into the insiders Club. What's left? ...

Re: The "ALL HOCKEY / NO BS" hockey talk thread

Not so long ago one of the criticisms of Canuck President Trophy teams was that they padded their point total against teams like Edmonton, Colorado and Calgary. Were they crap teams, or were the Canucks that dominant? Now Vancouver is on the opposite side of the coin. We are a crap team; we just ha...
