Re: Players You Hate

Sometimes the best moves are the ones you don’t make. I’m starting to feel that way about the Lindholm deal, time will tell, but so far as a rental which he is? Very disappointing. Coulda done better with someone else for less assets given. I think it was as much getting Kuzmenko out as bringing Li...

Re: Temporary hockey discussion thread

My gawd, Lindholm isn’t saving the day. Give yer heads a shake. He’s turned into a pour man’s Swedish version of 3rd line Center Manny Malhotra. Who knows what kind of effect he’ll have on return? That said, he’s better than some options in the bottom six. Who would you pick - Aman or Lindholm? Nob...

Re: Temporary hockey discussion thread

Besides, what would a healthy Lindholm bring to the equation? The answer to that question has yet to be seen. Dunno if we’ll see it this season.

Re: Temporary hockey discussion thread

This team has to figure it out quick. I don’t want to see them torched in the playoffs, but that’s what’s coming for them. They’re in a funk, no doubt. Part of it is not having Demko between the pipes - DeSmith’s been showing cracks since the homestand. Part of it may be players either saving juice...

Toronto - Duh, it's Toronto?? The sooner that cancerous boil suffers a cataclysmic event that takes their shitty team and their cock-sucking media empire with it, the happier I will be. Edmonton - Because their fans are insufferable when they win; and their tears when they lose give me a chub, while...

Re: Vancouver's Hockey "Media"

OK, so which of you bamboozled suckers pay $39.99 per month to the Athletic so you can read exclusives by the likes of Harman Dayal, please stand up I initially subscribed for Botchford's post-game pieces. Didn't always agree with him, but he was better than the seal-clapping bunch elsewhere. Dayal...

Re: Canucks News N Notes 2020-2021

I like the Hawryluk signing. Right age bracket. Right price. Good roll of the dice for the bottom 6. If he performs, he gets some term and cash. If not, Benning can look around next summer for the next low-ante gamble. If he pans out, folks like Roussel should start looking over their shoulder.

Re: Canucks News N Notes 2020-2021

The only move that they made which I think was a whiff was letting Stetcher go. Tanev and Markstrom wanted cash, term and (in Markstrom's case) no-movement protection. Benning didn't - and should not have anyway - accept the term both guys ended up getting. Long-term, letting Markstrom and Tanev go ...

Re: Canucks News N Notes 2020-2021

Good pickup by Benning. Wish Schmidt was 27 instead of 29 considering his contract and age of the core, but the acquisition cost is pretty sweet. Like UWS pointed out, I don't think Benning wanted to be hemmed-in by term and NMCs - which is what Markstrom and Tanev wanted in the end. With that, and...

Re: Which would be the worst UFA contract?

The only way a Markstrom deal makes sense is if he has no expansion protection. Benning needs the flexibility come expansion draft time.

Re: Boeser, Brock

I think a lot of the people on the 'Trade Boeser' Camp have anxiety about his apparently diminished shot. They also salivate at the likes of Podkolzin and/or Hoglander becoming top-6 wingers. They look at what Toffoli was able to do in the regular season and the fit he had with Pettersson. Finally, ...

Re: Goalies moving forward.

I've listened to Benning's interview 3 times now and the most critical point he makes about the goalies is that he feels with our travel schedule, it's better to go with two proficient net-minders. Sounds like he wants Markstrom back but can only spend so much and Jacob has the right to test the ma...
