Re: The 2018 NHL Entry Draft

I can’t say I’d be disappointed with Bouchard. I just think the London Knight connection - Horvat and Juolevi will be the deciding factor for Benning. Who I want? The Canucks lack an element of super skilled and fast puck carriers on the team and Hughes regardless of his size hits all the marks but...

Re: Canucks Young Guns

Lucky it wasn't something worse. Hopefully, it will not affect his prep for Canuck's camp in any way. I was not in agreement with him taking part in the Worlds. Can play for his country at some later point, W/E. The Canucks are a business and one that needs a shot in the arm right now. This kid mig...

Re: Pick Your Winners. All rounds.

First off - Fucking Vegas!!!!

I've donated a stake and a handy mallet to the Jets so they can slay this Cinderella beast. Jets in 6

Washington slayed its dragon, but their forwards are too banged up up front, so Tampa in 7.

Re: Playoffs

I guess it’s about get real now. Was happy to watch the Kings and sharks get fed their own asses by VGK. The sliver of non asshole in me has been okay with Vegas having a stellar inaugural season but enough is enough. When it comes to karma and the long suffering in the peg, It’s time for big colle...

Re: Canucks News and Notes 2017-2018

I guess Brian Burke got in his last parting shot at Vancouver. He pissed and cried so much to move the young stars tournament to Red Deer and now the Flames won’t participate. Not sure why the Coilers aren’t going. Kind of a shitty tournament now though. The Penticton Tournament sched is up, and it...

Re: Canucks Young Guns

One of the things I love about our English cultural legacy is the use of convention over code when it comes to language, law, etc. English grammar is more a matter of convention in that it allows for the bending of some rules in order to gain effect. As long as the link can be made between the gramm...

Jesus the team already has Sutter, Eriksson, Hutton, Gagner, and Gudbranson siphoning almost 19 million for a third line and a bottom d pairing and you want to add Ryan to that? LOL Aquilini will be stoked and that 19 million is getting us to the cap floor this year while we develop the guys we wan...

Re: Canucks Young Guns

DiPietro wins OHL goalie of the year. If DiPietro lights it up next year or the year after - assuming Demko's development trajectory remains intact - it looks like Benning may have an envious dilemma. You can't keep both. They will both need to take the net on the same team at some point and there'...

Re: The 2018 NHL Entry Draft

If Tkachuk falls to us we take him right? If it ends up a choice between Hughes and Wahlstrom, which do you prefer? I'm interested in what some of you think. If Tkachuk falls to Benning at #7, it becomes a question of Tkachuk vs Wahlstrom. Who has the higher ceiling? Problem with Tkachuk is we look...

Re: Trade rumours & armchair pipe dreams 17-18 Sponsored by SKYO

IF Pettersson makes the team next year as a center, would you trade Loui to Edmonton straight up for Lucic? Why are we putting Elias at centre? He's played nearly exclusively on the wing and has thrived, no one his age has ever put up numbers like he did in the SHL! He should and will be a winger t...

Re: Around the league (signings, RFAs injuries)

Ron Francis gone in Carolina. He's been a dead man walking in that organization for a while now. At least it's official and he can look elsewhere for work if he wants to stay in the biz. Kinda sucks how it ended for him considering his history with that franchise, but the new owner doesn't strike m...

Re: The 2018 NHL Entry Draft

IIRC, Trouba was touted for his physical play as well. Dobson, not so much. Not that he needs to be to make his selection worth the organization’s while. People compare him to Pietrangelo, which is a good thing if Dobson reaches that comparable.

Re: The Official CC "All Thing Leaves" thread

At 28 years old, he [Andersen] is in his prime, and based on the past two playoff seasons, he has defined himself as a very good goalie in the regular season who falls off a little or a lot in the post-season when the competition gets tougher. - Damien Cox Doc, do you have your hand up Damien’s ass...

Re: Trade rumours & armchair pipe dreams 17-18 Sponsored by SKYO

I think most here that want Maroon or Reaves are not trying to sign them to take quality minutes from the kids, but to get more limited minutes and provide some push back when sand gets kicked in their faces, Reaves more so than Maroon. I'd prefer to see a trade for a younger version of either of t...
