Re: 2019 NHL ENTRY DRAFT - Vancouver

I generally have a dim view of Russians because if they get their nose out of joint in the slightest, they tend to bolt or want out of Vancouver. Just as the club seems to have a good history with Swedes, it seems the inverse with Russians. I loved Bure to death as a Canuck, and Almo put up numbers ...

Re: 2019 NHL ENTRY DRAFT - Vancouver

I'm bracing myself for Jāņi and Līgosvētki here in Latvia. Beer, cheese with coriander seeds, leaping over bonfires, more beer, and walking off with someone to 'pick flowers'... wonder how many March/April babies there are around here??? Oh yeah... back to the draft. I have a feeling Boldy is the pi...

Sabres fans seem to want some younger middle six wingers in the trade for Risto.
That probably means affordable Jake mm?
See if they’ll take Goldy and a 4th or a prospect.

I believe Karlsson May want to play in the East.

Ottawa isn’t happening. He HATES Eugene Melnyk.
Yeah, I think Melnyk burned that bridge pretty good. Can Montreal afford him and Weber?

Christ, we’re not even to July yet and THIS is what the threads have come to nowadays??? Dark days, my droogs, dark days...

BTW, if Benning trades Virtanen for anything less than a star forward with post-season credentials, he should be fired. I haven’t forgotten the Neely trade.

Re: The Official CC "All Thing Leaves" thread

I’ll take Riga over Toront-hole any day. Safer, cleaner, and friendlier. Transit system is better. Food is better and cheaper and the beer beats anything your hipster bullshit craft breweries can manage. Toronto is not even in the same league as Paris and London. Those are imperial-class capitals r...

Re: The Official CC "All Thing Leaves" thread

Best city in the world. Now your pushing it. When it was just about sports, things were fun, sort of. But saying ^ that, well, you just lost all credibility. Have you ever visited anywhere else? Born in Montreal. People tell me that's a great city. LOL. Hellhole. Visited Sydney, Paris, London,. I’l...

That’s why I (and a lot more Canadians than GTA trolls want to recognize) are cheering for Golden State.

Re: Canuck News and Notes - 2018-2019

Zucker is not what this team needs. As someone else pointed out, better to target a cap-strapped team and get more ammunition to get what the roster needs via trade or draft.

Playoffs next year is not a far-off goal, but hopefully Benning doesn’t throw the rebuild off course to save his ass.

Re: Trade rumours & armchair pipe dreams 18-19 Sponsored by SKYO

Five dmen I'd target to trade for: - Jacob Trouba (Jets contract probs) - Rasmus Ristolainen (Sabres need a shakeup) - Matt Dumba (wishful, doubt it) - Philippe Myers (he and Stecher played well together on TC) - Colin Miller (Vegas needs cap space) Risto wont be available hes their franchise dman....

Re: Around the league (signings, RFAs injuries)

I feel bad for the guy. Both of them, really. I still don't know how he ended up with fractures. There would be neck fractures in the NHL once a month if it was that easy to get them. The whole thing was bizarre collection of events. Nonetheless, no one deserves to have the career ended like that. ...

Re: 2019 NHL ENTRY DRAFT - Vancouver

Yeah, hopefully Anaheim would take Caufield because that would mean (hopefully) Benning would have a shot at taking the likes of Boldy. If you look at the lack of shrimp forwards a-la Point, Gaudreau and Marchessault in the SCF one suspects that size and durability still count in the playoffs.
