I may have to update "The Guide"
Yeah, haven’t seen many of the cats on that guide around here for many, many moons.

Re: I used to frequent this board back in the day -- I have some questions

2) How about updating this site with a more modern forum experience? Welcome! I'll be honest, this is the only message board I use, so I have no idea what a modern forum experience would entail. That being said, in the trade-off between more features and a faster-loading site, I'm a big fan of how ...

Re: Training Camp - 2019

Consensus has Brock, Petey and Miller on the first line - makes utter sense. Those who want Ferland there for deterrence factor may have forgotten that Miller can chuck them as well - he's just not as feared as Ferland but may have more miles on his fists/noggin. I would like to see Pearson, Horvat ...

Re: Canucks Young Guns

I’ve heard of rumblings of discontent in Utica, with a lot of it being leveled at Cull. Apparently he’s more Tortorella than Green in his approach. Likes his gritty grinders over the skilled players. I think if we have more rumblings and lack of progress from Benning’s picks, I wouldn’t be surprised...

Re: Canucks Young Guns

Not really young anymore, (I guess compared to me :( ), but; Captain Nikita Tryamkin with the blast from the point on the power play makes it 1-0 Avtomobilist. https://twitter.com/Fan2Abby/status/1159029713349689344 He isn’t a prospect whatsoever. He’s 25 and he may or may not come back. Some poste...

Problem is, the Bruins barely felt it. Like getting pelted by mini-marshmallows.
 the Bruins were like “whatevs” about it.

Re: The Official CC "All Thing Leaves" thread

Hey Doc, after Big Bruising teams (Caps and Blues) winning the last two Stanley Cups why is Dumbass building the smallest team in the NHL if they are trying to win the cup now? Something isn’t computing here. Look at the Canucks most recent acquisitions Myers - 6’-8” 230 lbs Ferland - 6’-1” 217 lbs...

Re: The Official CC "All Thing Leaves" thread

Andersen is the Dan Cloutier of today’s league. He can look great behind a team that can score its way out of trouble, but crumbles when the playoffs come. Enjoy the odd playoff round win but no conference rounds, fish-head. Wait a minute, Andersen has yet to win a playoff round. Maybe Cloutier has ...

Dude, what will you do without your arch-foil? I mean, you can try starting shit with Reef, but we all know it won’t be the same. It’ Like drinking near beer - most of the calories, but none of the fun.

Re: The Official CC "All Thing Leaves" thread

The only reason Vancouver found an excuse not to is Toronto jealousy. Do you really think anyone could possibly be jealous of that shithole of a city? Honestly though...do you? You mean the shithole city which finishes top of every ranking? Are you seriously going to go back to that assertion when ...

I really miss laughing at cheeseburger nonis. He totally looked like randy bobandy  Why wouldnt you do anything in your power to not look like that? Same with Jason Kenney... About Kenney, though, nah... he's like Fred Flintstone. Peter van Loan looked like a grey-haired Barney Rubble. U...

Re: Canucks News n Notes 2019-2020

As others have said, lining Ferland and Virtanen on a 3rd line would be a terror on the forecheck. Can people just give it a rest on trying to get Virtanen out of here??? I just don't get the hate, or the devaluation, or whatever you want to call it. Virtanen is not a deal-sweetener, he's a signific...

. Totally missed this; Jett Woo isn't a warrier anymore, he's a hitman. https://calgarysun.com/sports/hockey/hitmen-pull-off-blockbuster-to-get-woo-draft-defenceman-siepmann Or a Canuck. 8-) Unless Calgary's rep for developing NHL players has improved since Virtanen was there, I can imagine Benning...

Re: 2019 offseason

Sabres acquire Henri Jokiharju from the Blackhawks for Alexander Nylander. Their defense is killer. Dahlin Montour McCabe Miller Scandella Jokiharju They'll be trading Risto for a forward soon. The only thing they are kinda weak on is center depth experience. They have cap space, Risto is their pri...

Re: Canucks Young Guns

Hoglander looks like a steal. Love the grit, motor, skill combo of both the wingers Podkozlin and Hoglander. The two will be very complimentary to what we have here. He can sure skate. Terrific agility on his feet. His footwork was what I noticed as well. Edge work is amazing, finish, not so much. ...
