Re: From Bountiful to Ponoka
Whoa, good to be back. Nice to see some have stuck around. I don't think anyone has pointed this out yet, but we can just all laugh at the irony of the situation? The Flames front office spent all their brain juices coming up with ways to structure the deal to deter the Avs from matching, only to fi...

So how do we get Salo in the lineup then? Unless you're suggesting that we keep Salo on the IR, which I imagine would undoubtedly piss him off. Salo's been participating in full practices already.
Tamby and Hansen split 2nd line duties, depending on how the game goes.

Re: Team toughness - Fighting
My 2 cents... Just because you lead the league in fighting majors doesn't mean you're necessarily a tough team, or a team built for the playoffs, because in the playoffs there's virtually no fighting. There are more important matters at hand, like scoring goals. Chicago won because of their superior...

Re: Really? This is the hockey were supposed to pay cash for
I wasn't specifically pointing out the twins, but yes, I don't think they play the same way in the playoffs/Olympics as they do in the regular season. While the drop in level isn't as drastic as....Joe Thornton's per se, there is still a slight drop. They seem to be very similar to Markus Naslund i...

Re: Who looks better now?
And the rumors begin: Intrigue at Canucks practice: Bieksa talks to GM Gillis, Rypien not on ice Wouldn't want to speculate on Rypien's personal issues... but there's clearly something up there. As for Bieksa... tough to imagine us getting anything but cap space, but we'll see. i call it as nothing...

Re: GDT: Canucks host Hawks - 7pm - CBC
Anyone else annoyed by the complacency, the "this is gonna be one of those games"/"let's move on to the next game" attitude, the Canucks showed ALL game? Like an inability to ratchet up their game when it called for it. There weren't even stretches when the team played well. AV looked emotionless on...

This is so painful to watch. We've looked asleep since that Pittsburgh game. We can't even beat an inconsistent team on the second half of their back to back.

Re: Colin Campbell controversy
The thing about Twitter is that it really exposes how bad and snooty the media can be. They're all stuck up.LotusBlossom wrote:

Re: Colin Campbell controversy
2. The other thing that bothers me are the people who are defending Campbell. Doug MacLean (even though his opinion doesn't matter), on the Fan590 today had the balls to say that Campbell was right in being concerned about his son. Campbell was being a good hockey father. MacLean even said that he ...

Re: Colin Campbell controversy
I should add that the e-mails in question between Walkom and Campbell are three years old. I can't find the source right now but there's differing opinions on Warren and his dismissal. In 22 performance reports on Warren only one stated that Warren did not meet expectations. Doug MacLean, former coa...

Colin Campbell controversy
If you haven't noticed yet, there's a big controversy (potentially) brewing between the blogging world, journalists, and Colin Campbell. This may really snowball into something bigger and I suggest everyone to follow the story closely. If you're on Twitter, following @mc79hockey (owner of site) and ...

Perry made threats to Datsyuk and Samuelsson too. He was never fined. This happens in every game. As long as it's not done Avery-style I'm sure it's fine.

Re: Burrows updates
Better they play 15+ minutes a night in the AHL to start the season and earn their promotions rather than play them <10 minutes a night and then demote them. Not if they're better for the team. And frankly, there might not be a reason to demote them. I like Sammy on the third line, so there might j...

ill drive him to the airport myself I'll pay for your gas... Man, what are they even doing with him right now? You can't tell me that one of our promising forwards couldn't benefit from a little NHL experience. They aren't THAT green. And hell, we're getting nothing out of the guy right now, so the...

Question: Is it legal to put in a new goalie just for the shootout? i actually think you can do that  Schnieds gets his second start in 4 games. Goalie controversy? 8-) I believe the leaves pulled CuJo from the shootout once and put in someone else instead and lost the game anyway. No goalie c...
