Re: Canucks Young Guns

Too bad the conference was so bad that the thought of making the playoffs impacted the right long term decisions to be made. That's one hell of an excellent point, right there, Reef. It’s like accidental intelligence, he stumbles into unwittingly on rare occasions, savour the moment, for it’s quite...

Re: Trade rumours & armchair pipe dreams 18-19 Sponsored by SKYO

Hughes hasn't played a game in the NHL yet and you are heralding him as the second coming of Bobby Orr. Woo finally had a decent year in his last year of Junior. Kind of the same trajectory as Pouliot. But by all means trade Hutton, I mean he's only one of our not terrible defensemen. He is expenda...

Re: GDT: Sens @ Canucks. 7 pm Mar 20 SNP

Hey, only 4 points out of a playoff spot. Run the table and the playoffs are ours to be had  Gotta love the media actually running with this. 4 points out with 4 teams ahead of us, most with game(s) in hand. Man, Ottawa is bad. They have a nice group of young players and prospects, but I f...

Re: GDT: Sens @ Canucks. 7 pm Mar 20 SNP

Nice to see the Canucks gave up yet another first career goal tonight. It more than balances out. Think about, every player that plays for the Canucks, except a goalie, at some point scores his first goal as a Canuck! Some of them even score their first NHL goal as a Canucks. So on balance, we win!...

Re: 2019 NHL ENTRY DRAFT - Vancouver

Of course let’s just dismiss the good players. If you piss the picks away you won’t get any hidden gems. More picks = more chances. You can a lead a horse to water. yes, you have dismissed the good players. go back to only 2014, Bennings 1st draft, who ya got? Point. Where are Masin and MacLeod fro...

Re: 2019 NHL ENTRY DRAFT - Vancouver

So if Tampa trades away all their later picks I guess they’d still be just as good without Point, Palat, Kucherov, Cirelli etc Skip the anomalies, how about the following looking at only the top 3 rounds Masin, MacLeod, Yan, Spencer, Stephens Then there is 2018 - no 1st 2015 - no 1st 2013 - no 3rd ...

Re: 2019 NHL ENTRY DRAFT - Vancouver

When Benning was hired, his first priority was to refill the age gaps in the veteran line up he had inherited. handicapped with players on trade protected contracts he got on with the job of moving what he could when he could while bringing in player within defined age brackets who could fulfill rol...

Re: Canucks Young Guns

I haven't minded the play of Brisebois and Sautner. Rookie D callups still developing, they have played alright. Yes there are plenty of warts and they need to be sheltered, but that is to be expected. They are both playing a safe conservative game and there is nothing wrong with that.

I was always a fan of the 40 goal 200 penalty minute club guys like Al Secord. He did it twice in his career.
Right... and most recently in the 85/86 season. :look:
Bertuzzi had 46 goals and 144 penalty minutes in 03-04......needed just a wee wafer moore
