Re: GDT: preseason: Canucks @ Flames. Sept 22/18 6:45pm, SNP

The back to back Virtanen and Juolevi 1st round picks are haunting this organization but hey not alone An interesting assertion that I'm surprised didn't draw a bigger response. First, I'm sure by now you have recalled that Virtanen and Juolevi weren't drafted back to back; Boeser was drafted betwe...

Re: Canucks camp & preseason 2018/2019

Apparently all the owners hire coaches, overturn trades, demand that managers make certain trades. I've heard it said that it's a challenge for many NHL GMs. Royal Dude's interpretation of events points to what seems like quite a bit of interference, but that might still only be par for the course....

Re: GDT: Pre-season. Sept 20/18. LA @Canucks 7:00pm SN1

On another note, as much as I hate to say it - maybe IN is right about Virtanen becoming the next Torres If that's true, would you consider it a good return on a 6th overall draft pick? The reference case, Raffi Torres, was a 5th overall himself. Sounds like The Dude would say "no". To be fair the ...

Re: GDT: Pre-season. Sept 20/18. LA @Canucks 7:00pm SN1

This PP will be a Godsend this year I assure I derive no joy from being a buzzkill, but I feel obligated to point out that a great power play is only an asset when referees call penalties. Has the current edition of the Canucks done enough to mend their relationship with League officials that they ...

Re: Canucks camp & preseason 2018/2019

I agree with Blob, the owners meddling have completely turned this organization one of the most confused organizations in the league, they need to let their “hockey people” they hire [d]o their job.... Holy fuck are we trouble So when ownership tells Gilllis to hire Torterella cause he’s Italian th...

Re: Canucks camp & preseason 2018/2019

I’m only going to be watching Pettersson, Boeser, Horvat and Virtanen this year. Gaudette and Juolevi if they stick. The rest of the 2018-19 team pure white noise. I will blacken the rest of the lineup out cause none of them will be around when this team kicks it So four years into the process, the...

Both are good at all aspects of the game, neither are good fighters. Interesting. This would seem to imply that you do not consider fighting a part of the game. I thought you held a different position. No I didn't mean fighting isn't a part of the game. I didn't think you meant that, but it follows...

Re: Captain my Captian

My new nomination for Canucks captain is Jay Beagle, watching the training camp clips - he's vocal out there, takes leadership, he's the most fit of the bunch apparently with his supreme work ethic, while others were puking from the bag skate, Beags was going strong, and he has a sense of humour ah...

I bet he’s 180 lbs and ready to rumble With respect to the link, I certainly hope we haven't seen his full physical development. As for your estimate, I've been looking for a reliable source for player ph...

Re: Around the league (signings, RFAs injuries)

Does anybody know where to find the NHL Prohibited Substances List? (You'd think they'd want to make it easy for the players and their trainers to find.) This seemed to imply that they were just going to follow the WADA list: http://www.nhl.com/ice/page.htm?id=26397 I couldn't find creatine on the W...

Re: 2019 UFA

Compared to most of the posters on this site my academic references are impeccable. I have many more publications in peer reviewed academic journals than I will probably ever have posts on this site... "He (meaning me) does not suffer the fool." Well guess what I see this all too often on this site...

By the way, why did the font change? Wait... what? I don't know my font names, but for as long as I can remember, the main board has been in what looks like Ariel, and the drafts for posts have been in...something else (can't find a match in MS Word). Now the main board is in the same font as the d...
